I have two paragons, one is black resin M nib HT version, the other is brown celluloid B nib GT version. the metal section of the celluloid version is made of sterling silver, but the resin version is not. both are the best writing instruments.flex and soft nibs and the 12 facets design bring me so much pleasure.but this happened after exchange, the fomer ones' nibs scratched the paper.you can see the tines not set align.again, the quality control problems. fortunately, the new ones are almost perfect, except the facets alignment and the black one's initial skip problems.when i use aurora black ink ,skip problem disappeared.

Thank you, with the issues at Omas... I pushed the Paragon up my bucket list, then found one heavily discounted... Black and the silver trim, in Broad nib.. my first choice. I am so excited again thank you for the review.. I eagerly await my newest birthday to me present.

now where is that list ?

Great Review and despite the demise of Omas I am in the process of buying the black/gold version.

I have tried a lot of high end pens and the Omas Paragon stands out for providing the best writing experience (for me). I think the pen has the right combination of size, weight and balance that makes this model special. I found the Milord a great performer also but a bit too light.

The metal gold section was a turn off at first but when you actually write with the pen the weight balance is superb.

i have both a Black and the Arco brown Paragon, the Black I got around '85 as I recall and the Arco Brown about 10 years later. I also prefer the older style paragon as it is really true to the original style of the pen from the '30s. I'm not a fan of a metal section as they don't feel "right" between my fingers! Function wise your review seems to say that this aspect of the pen has not changed which is good, I just wish they had not "updated" a classic pen !!

Here's my Black Paragon :

Picked up an inexpensive Omas Milord Ballpoint recently, really like the feal of it, am so tempted to go for the fountain pen version.

Thanks for the review,
