They are beautiful! Wish we had a way to buy this in the States. Even the Goulets won't carry it. Too bad.

There is a way to get them right here in Virginia--if you read this thread from its inception, you'll see that Paul at Akkerman's store in the Hague will ship inks almost anywhere and he packs them very thoroughly. He accepts PayPal. No, the Goulets wouldn't carry them because the inks were made specifically for the anniversary celebration of the Akkerman's store in the Netherlands and due to high customer intrigue and demand, Paul made the inks available to those outside the Netherlands. I got three bottles and have been happily using them ever since. They come with that secure feeling that accompanies a magnum of wine: I may not run out of this divine stuff any time this evening!

What a disaster

 

I will go to the Netherlands for three days and will not get to the store.

Friday evening arrival in Eindhoven, then to Amsterdam. Will spend Saturday in Amsterdam. Sunday need to go to Utrecht, then, is the only moment when it might go to The Hague but then the shop is closed.

 

150ml bottle of ink can be taken in hand luggage on an airplane in Netherland ?

 

Maybe I could order a bottle of ink to Amsterdam, but I am not sure whether it will be able to board the plane home.

 

Is it what to look at in Amsterdam and Utrecht which would involve fountain pens or inks ?

I recently ordered some Akkerman Inks from their webstore. I was a little concerned about shipping them from The Netherlands to the U.S.; turns out I worried for nothing. The inks were beautifully packed. Each bottle had tape around the cap (like electrical tape), was wrapped with bubble wrap and with paper before being put back into it's box.

 

I'd like to thanks the people at P.W. Akkerman for the extra effort in packaging my order for shipment.

I am super thrilled with the Akkerman inks I got. I split an order with raging.dragon, and it worked perfectly! Shipping is flat rate for up to seven bottles, and we each got one bottle to ourselves of a colour that the other wasn't really interested in.

 

We split the five remaining bottles, which meant that we each got around 75mL of ink, which is much more manageable than 150 mL. Not only that, but we split the shipping! And it meant that we each got to try SIX new ink colours.

 

All in all, I strongly suggest finding one partner to order these with. It came out to $105 CAD for the order. Not too shabby.

I love how vibrant the inks are. Our second order came packed perfectly. I ended up making samples for the summer experiment and sample bottles for others.

BTW, as someone who as organized group buys that price is very fair. I've heard they no longer have the larger sizes. You will either buy a small bottle from them or from a group buy.
