thank you! Really, though, that F. Scott Fitzgerald pen would make anyone's handwriting look good. It is a broad nib and it is smooth as silk.

 

You went to the Akkerman store at The Hague?? !!!!!!!!!!!! You are the envy of Akkerman fans around the world! Is it true that they still write the receipt with a fountain pen on a good, old fashioned piece of embossed paper? I like that.

 

Don't restrain yourself. After all, ink lasts a long time--both in the bottle (especially one the size of the Akkerman bottle) and on paper. Enjoy!

Is it true that they still write the receipt with a fountain pen on a good, old fashioned piece of embossed paper? I like that.

 

I like that, too. But no, I haven't seen any receipts on old fashioned paper.... Just electronically printed receipts. Maybe they fill out FP-guarantee forms with a FP, I don't know. And I don't have the impression that they would fancy making a museum-like impression. LOL. But the service is old fashioned all right.....

I felt in love with this bottle and going to order # 15, 22 and 23. Do someone know how much is the # 23 Bekakt Haags similar to Waterman Havana Brown? If it become very similar, I'll order another colour.

They are not similar at all. Bekakt Haags is more of a dark brown like Diamine Chocolate Brown, but not identical. No red to it at all like the Havana. I also have # 15, Voorhout Violet. It is a beautiful dark and dusky purple, and a great performer.

Wow, that's a whole lot of violet ink -- these bottles are huge!

True--but can one ever have too much violet ink? Those wonderful bottles sort of alleviate the anxiety of running out of ink. Now, if they only made wine bottles like that . . .

I took a look at the Voorhout Violet's review and browsed writing samples put here on FPN and decided it'll be my primary ink in use (with Waterman's Havana as a secondary one). I think it's worth it - dark and dusky as Tortoise said and also sensual as I perceive it. In addition cost of bottle is less when the order is at least for 3 bottles.

After obsessively combing through this thread, I ordered #7 KoninginneNach-Blauw; #15 Voorhout Violet; #16 Oranje Boven; #18 Garuda Rood; #22 Hopjesbruin; #25 Denneweg Groen; and #28 Hofkwartier Groen. Paul has been wonderful to deal with. Now it's time to settle in and wait by the mailbox! :bunny01: :bunny01:
