Akkerman Inks From The Netherlands

How lovely. Thank you for posting!

Thanks. I'm happy to share scans of colors that haven't been shown yet. I've been very pleased with the Akkerman inks.

[Wow thanks Geoduc. Intriguing color. On my monitor just in between red and orange.

It really is an interesting red. I have a number of reds in my ink collection, but none quite like this.

Monday will be 2 weeks since my order was shipped, me anxious? :bunny01:

My first order took ten days to show up and the second took two and a half weeks. It's worth the wait!

Yeah the baby versions would be sweet. The ones they did are wonderful though, and a perfect tribute to their store and country.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

2 weeks to the day! BUT, I wasn't home to sign for them so I have to wait till tomorrow :crybaby:

Still, 2 weeks is not bad at all.

An idea, you'll tell me if it makes sense or not...

Can someone from the Netherlands who's reading this forum maybe buy some bottles and then ship them at cost to interested FPNers as apparently the shipping costs offered by the store are a deterrent?

Or maybe buy a couple of bottles and ship vials?

Any volunteer in the Netherlands?

I am kind of lucky. I have a very old friend whose daughter lives in Den Hague. She sent me 2 bottles for 17 Euros shipping, but I doubt whether I could keep sending her to Akkermans on everyones behalf.

Well volunteer??!! I bought two bottles for Epo a couple of months ago and shipped them to Scotland.

OK, I have an offer.

I am not prepared to be your regular ink courier, but I am willing to do a one time transcation for everyone who is interested. I work in The Hague and it is easy for me to visit the Akkerman shop. Let me know what colors you want and I 'll see what I can do.

Best regards, Tim

Thanks Tim.

Who is interested? And from which country?

I would be, for one bottle - too many already! - for France.

Take your time. I'll wait a couple of days for you to make up your minds. The bottles are € 16,50 and posting and packaging for 2 bottles is € 17,-. For 1 bottle or more than 2, I'd have to check at the post office.

Best regards, Tim

My latest shipment of 8 bottles has arrived, exactly 2 weeks, fantastic! The packaging is again adequate to withstand a plane crash, no way anything could damage these bottles. The bottle necks sealed with tape, the bottle wrapped in a plastic bag, with foam peanuts in the box, all inside another box, layered in foam peanuts, in another box, more peanuts, in an outer (third) box...hardly a more secure way to ship glass objects.

And, when I mailed Paul to order the inks, he shipped them the same day!!

A big up to Paul and Akkerman

Can't wait to start sampling them... :puddle:

Got mine today too, already tested a little with my dip pen. I think I am changing my Easter Color too. Now if my pen would just get here.

And to make things even more fantastic, one of my fav pens ran out of ink today. It will be wearing Akkerman tomorrow :)

I just tried out a few drops of the #22 Hopjesbruin - with a dip pen, which I a still very new to.

This is really a very pleasant color:

Yes it does! It has a kind of golden "fudge" color to it. I used a speedball italic dip nib just to try it out, I now have it in a Delta Dolcevita OS with a B nib, and it looks great.

Thanks for the Hopjesbruin scan! It certainly is less orange than the initial sample scan. I was thinking it would be something similar to Sailor Red-brown, but it definitely seems to be its own animal. Interesting.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Please pardon the double post on the Oranje Boven and the fade out at the bottom. I'm using a Nikon--even a blindfolded photographer has a shot with such a foolproof piece of equipment. Here is No. 13--Simplisties Violet.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. Now, if I could just figure out how to upload pics without blundering. Somehow last night I deleted all the pictures on my previous posts. It's a burden being so technologically challenged!

Professor Plume, you're doing it again! Your handwriting is amazing, and again you've directed my attention to that lovely F. Scott Fitzgerald pen...... What nib does it have??

We all bought a bottle of Akkerman ink when some members of this forum met at Akkerman's in The Hague last Saturday (where I also tried a MB for the first time). I bought my third bottle, Rood Haags Pluche. (And from now on I am going to re-strain-my-self .)
