Akkerman Inks From The Netherlands

I have those exact colors - including the Hopjesbruin - in my next shipment, will post as soon as I have them

I look forward to your post!

drifting, the shipping jumps up when you add that 4th bottle. After comparing the pricing, you might want to limit to 3 or add a couple more and go for 6 or 7. Those seem to be the best values.

Thanks for the info. Good to know.

Ryan.

Anxiously waiting on my first order and already planning my second order.

Yes, up to 3 bottles (just under 2kg) has the same shipping cost, and 4 to 8 bottles (up to 5kg) has the same shipping cost. So, I went for 8. (8,9,10,15,21,22,24,26) Can't wait!

Man, you folks are making it difficult for me to turn the other cheek on these. My hypothetical order of four bottles conjured up from the original sample sheet would include the Diep-Duinwaterblauw, Voorhout Violet, and Groenmarkt Smaragd, and here you are, showing me those very hues. And they're looking good, too!

The only one of the four that caught my eye that I haven't seen reviewed yet is number 22, Hopjesbruin. Anyone else find this one interesting?

I almost choose Hopjesbruin, but I wasn't sure after all. So I am can't wait to see your scan, RS

Mine should arrive any minute now. I'm very eager to try them out, particularly the Oranje Boven.

I'm almost as excited about the bottle. I had been interested but not :notworthy1: about the bottles until I saw one at last month's Seattle Pen Club meeting.

They are much larger than I thought, and will be great on my desk.

Regards, greg

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

It would be interesting to know who is the manufacturer of the bottles. The inks come from Liverpool an I assume they fill the bottles at the factory, but is the design of the Copier/Gimborn bottles still protected or not?

The regular bottles of Diamine, De Atramentis or Callifolio are made by Vetrerie Italiane Foresta.

Yeah, I'd love to see if they had the baby-langhals bottles, as well.

The inks come from Liverpool

Has that been confirmed with Akkerman, doppelganger scans aside? I thought the official word was just that they weren't made by Herbin.

I'd love for Akkerman to sell their ink in babylanghals bottles. IMO, they are more practical and look better too. Being able to buy more colours for the same price is also definitely a plus. I know I'd buy more of the inks if they sold them in babylanghals bottles!

I totally agree. I love the bottles, :puddle: I like the colors but 150cc is a lot of ink. On my shelve are now 6 different Akkermanbottles. Unless I start drinking the stuff I will never empty one of these bottles by simple writing and taking notes. And it is sooo tempting to buy more colors, just because I can. (living in Holland.)

For me it helpes to have one collegue who also has discoverd the inks. So we swap.

Dear Paul Rutte and Akkerman Co: [

the only sollution for this problem is bringing out a second line of bottles, replica of the original babylanghals from Gimborn. Half the size and double the fun!

Actually, it's less than half the size. The original Gimborn langhals and babylanghals were rated at 164 and 62 ml, respectively, while the Akkermans bottle is rated at 150 ml. Now I don't know whether that's the total volume of the bottle or the amount of ink that's in it. For reference, here's a quick photo I made of the different bottles:

You can clearly see that the Akkerman bottle is slightly smaller than the Gimborn. Perhaps Akkerman could make 50 ml bottles?

There are other differences between the two bottles too: The Akkerman has a punt, almost like a wine bottle, while the Gimborn's bottom is flat. And of course the cap is modern plastic and not bakelite.

Your bottlecollection is SO Cool! B) B)

Maybe it will inspire Paul Rutte to consider a wider range, and add the babylanghals as well.

Well, how fascinating. Akkermans is clearly the Rockstar of ink and global conversation. IMHO, they have been very gracious to ship their unique and cleverly presented inks worldwide--perhaps they didn't expect the spotlight but they couldn't have been more pleasant about accommodating their fans Thanks again to them for that..

Hang in there! My inks took exactly four weeks to arrive but when they did they were in pristine shape and well worth the wait. Keep us posted!
