Akkerman Inks From The Netherlands

Recommended Posts

I came across the following inks here: pw-akkerman

30 nice looking ink colors come in beautiful bottles.

I do not know if those are unique inks or specially labeled and re-bottled inks already available under a different name (maybe Diamine or Callifolio ???). Unfortunately I did not get an answer to this question by the store owners :ninja: so I guess I have to find out by myself. It would be a really nice surprise in case those are indeed new ink colors...

I might get a few bottles just for the nice bottles?

Does anybody know more about those inks?

Cheers

Michael ...who is going to by some lottery tickets to afford new inks :puddle:

I have seen the bottles in the Akkerman shop and the looks of them are very very cool. I guess some fountainpenner from the Netherlands should write a first review (darn, I have quite a lot of ink, as it is).

Someone from this forum has asked me to get two bottles and ship them, which I will probably do next week.

Regards, Tim

I am the 'someone' Tim referred to, I intend to post a review when I get my hands on some.

I asked someone in the Netherlands if they could help me out because I was quoted piratical shipping costs to the UK by Akkerman, I mean huge, like 8-10 times reasonable, Tim was kind enough to offer.

I think someone from the Netherlands ought to be first to review these, so if anyone is intending to, let me know and I'll give you first go. Anyone in Edinburgh want a fill then I'll try to bring them along to a pen posse.

Nice shop by the way, you should definitely visit if you are in Den Haag.

That looks like a perfume bottle! The colour chart reminds me of the one on Private Reserve's site (in form, not the colours themselves). But why so many blues?!

:puddle: those bottles...

I would love to get a few bottles of this ink...

#5 (Shocking Blue)

#10 (Akkerman...Black, can't read all the letters in the scan!)

#18 (Geruda Rood)

#27 (Bezuidenwoudgroen)

I hope they speak English (as I barely speak it and it is my only language :) ) and that the shipping to he US is also not "Piratical"!

i think I have a new shop to visit. I should really visit it once and get some of those bottles. How much do they cost, I find their site slightly outdated and unusable

Akkerman's is a useful (although pricey) place to visit for fountain pens (also in one of the nicest areas of The Hague, in the midst of tourist and shopping attractions). The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in many respects. The new inks have nice bottles but I can't say I've seen a colour that has attracted me, especially for that quantity.

guys, the shape of those bottles is simply BRILLIANT! The designer must be a genius, not only because he managed to create a shape that allows to collect almost until the last drop of ink, but also because he created a really beautiful design! I've rarely seen practical bottles that also look nice! MB's bottles, for example, are excellent to collect the ink, but their design is questionable....

By the way, Akkermans is a Private reserve reseller. When I was there a few months ago and they showed me the test color chart many colors looked the same as their PR brothers....

In case it's not obvious these bottles have a thin waist and a glass ball in the top half (is this a traditional Dutch design?). The idea is you invert the bottle briefly and then undo the screw cap and fill your pen from the ink trapped in the top reservoir.

A 150 ml bottle costs € 16,50.

emphasis mine

I think it is: take a look at this post on the Copier Gimborn bottle. What a pretty, practical object!

I don't have a sense of scale with these bottles (heck, I don't have much of a sense of scale of anything). Does anyone have an approximate measure of the top portion? I'm trying to figure out if they would accommodate the large Visconti nibs. Thanks!

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.
