Favorite Omas Celluloid...

You know I'd want silver furniture. Much as I love blue, might lean toward the gray when I've seen them.

Hopefully by the time these are done, I'll have some mega bills paid down... :hmm1:

So it looks like my interest in these, has sparked Omas up. They are going to do 150 pens in the old style. 3 colors of 50 pens each. Most likely pens already done before.

Im sure blue will be one of them, Saffron I think and Pearl Grey I think.

Ive been offered these just for myself, but I have my eyes on other celluloids, but regardless, they will be available to the US. Kenro will be getting all of them, if I decide not take them. Most likely they will come in intervals. 50 in 2 months, another 50 in 2 months and so on.

Omas made about 30+ each of the old-style Paragons in Arco Green and Blue Saffron towards the end of last year, so it's not like they've forgotten how to make them, LOL. Unlike the originals didn't have the year stamped on the barrel. Those pens stayed in Italy.

May explain why they aren't willing to part with the Arco Green, which is one of the more rarer of the modern celluloids. Blue Saffron used to be, but I think at least a 2d lot of that celluloid was made were made; for the Blue Saffons of last year aren't the same as the first ones, 1997, I believe. I've compared them.

Still that they're willing now to make them is good news. If pearl gray is one of the celluloid, then I'd suggest the rhodium trim on that pen. The HT pearl grays are hard to come by. Micheal R. said they (many?) were made for the German market, and didn't see wide distribution.

Huh, I didnt know they had made any old style arcos that recently. Really, the end of 2010? I had no idea. I wonder why we dont see any of them here... I guess it makes sense they would stay in Italy. And I wonder why they were so hesitant to make them for us then...

They are willing to part with the Arco Green, the only celluloid they dont want to part with is the transparent gold and black one. Im just not big on doing pens, that have already been done.

I think the Pearl Grey will be the best one for sure. But Im not sure if I will take it as my own, most likely just buy a few.

If I remember correctly the HT Pearl Grey old style models were introduced for the Manufactum (www.manuctum.de) exclusive warehouse chain before the HT celluloid models were available elsewhere. Later they were listed in the regular Omas catalogs. By the way Manufactum still offers a re-edition of the MOMA pens (both gold and silver trim).

This way the HT Pearl Grey is the most common Omas Celluloid pen in Germany from my observations (still it is a fact that an Omas Celluloid pen os not common at all in Germany  ).

I really don't care about what material and shape Brian's pen(s) might have; as long as it has not been made in this combination yet

Cheers

Michael

A dirty little secret, LOL. Not sure what they're doing, and a number of store owners don't either. The mini Ogivas of last year were also I believe Italy only, and went to maybe 3 stores in Italy. I suppose reverse marketing strategy of Visconti, who release news pens first and only some models overseas -- the Homo Sapiens was formally presenting in Italy after the US. :P

Or perhaps, the economy was so bad in Italy, they decided to make pens they knew they could actually move?!?

No, they will be in the old style, if all goes well.

I think this will be great Bry. It looks like you are getting a lot of traction and interest

on the old style Omas.

Hopefully Omas had a good turn around time to get some samples to you soon.

I am getting a bit confused. I have no Omas as yet. Can you post a picture of the "old style" milord, so I can get the idea what we're talking about?

Thanks

Do I understand correctly this will be with a celluloid section?

A metal section would be a put-of for me.

For sure, it will be in the exact style as the picture on the first page. And the one I do, will most likely be in the new milord style, which also has a celluloid section.

Cheers!

Hi Bry,

The new Milord style, it is close to 146 in size. I had a old style paragon but sold it a while ago. I just count not recall the size.

thanks,

Andy

OK

BB nibs are a go, no problem. I also asked about flexible nibs, and those are a go as well.

Im checking on stubs, but as of now, BB, Extra Flexible fines and mediums are a go.

Cheers!
