Favorite Omas Celluloid...

Getting to this party kind of late, but what are the chances that Omas would be open to milling the green Arco on the opposite bias (a la quarter-sawn oak) to create the Spina de Pesce pattern again? The ones that they did for Novelli (?) in the brown Arco were gorgeous.

Tsk, tsk, didn't read the whole thread. ;) Miko mentioned the Spina di Pesce. Those pens were *not* exclusive to or commissioned by Novelli. Omas production in very small quantity, and I'm pretty sure that FP and RB set was only distributed in Italy -- like the two previous round sets. You probably know the pens via Novelli because Marco sells internationally, but other stores (not many) in Italy had them.

Well, a few samples have been ordered... We will see how they turn out. Ive ordered a sample of Pearl Gray, Arco Green and Wood. Although, the Grey and Arco have been done, its only been done on the old style, not new. So I wanted to see how it looked.

This makes me very, very sad.

Well as of now, we have ordered samples, and thats kind of where we are at. Once the samples arrive, I will end up putting an order in. As for timing, it really depends on when do they the next round of Milord pens, because then they can put my celluloid rods in so they dont start machines up just for one project. But this of course is price dependent.

Cheers!

So it looks like my interest in these, has sparked Omas up. They are going to do 150 pens in the old style. 3 colors of 50 pens each. Most likely pens already done before.

Im sure blue will be one of them, Saffron I think and Pearl Grey I think.

Ive been offered these just for myself, but I have my eyes on other celluloids, but regardless, they will be available to the US. Kenro will be getting all of them, if I decide not take them. Most likely they will come in intervals. 50 in 2 months, another 50 in 2 months and so on.

I might be set on the brown celluloid. Just because it have not been used, and I know it looks good with gold and silver trim...

Cheers!

Bry,

Great news!

I'd probably go for a grey with silver trim or the brown....

Is the brown the one in the lower right of the photo you posted?

For sure!

Yeah, the brown is the bottom right one. Same celluloid as the Divine Proportions.

Awesome

I know, Im glad they are seeing that its not all about fusions and ultra LEs.

I'm sticking with you Bry

Thanks! :)

Omas made about 30+ each of the old-style Paragons in Arco Green and Blue Saffron towards the end of last year, so it's not like they've forgotten how to make them, LOL. Unlike the originals didn't have the year stamped on the barrel. Those pens stayed in Italy.

May explain why they aren't willing to part with the Arco Green, which is one of the more rarer of the modern celluloids. Blue Saffron used to be, but I think at least a 2d lot of that celluloid was made were made; for the Blue Saffons of last year aren't the same as the first ones, 1997, I believe. I've compared them.

Still that they're willing now to make them is good news. If pearl gray is one of the celluloid, then I'd suggest the rhodium trim on that pen. The HT pearl grays are hard to come by. Micheal R. said they (many?) were made for the German market, and didn't see wide distribution.
