They are very different. As I understand, the Classic was a poor man´s version of the Parker 180; shares the same shape and size, but hasn´t got an overfeed and is not supposed to be used with the nib upside down (feed side up) as the 180 was. I´ve got one, a cheap model made in South America, probably in the 70´s. It writes very well, but it is very thin, even thinner than a Vector (9.4 mm against 10.0 mm).

I used to have a Jotter flighter, but I sold it. All I remember is that it was rather short (probably the shorter Parker FP) and the nib looked somewhat like a Vector´s. Very good writer, too, with a rather broadish M nib.

Well when I meant the parker classic, I actually meant the pen not the FP. My mistake. COntinue discussion and is the classic pen discontinued cause I can't find it on Parkers site.

As far as I know, the Parke classic BP is discontinued. Main differences are:

The classic is thinner

The arrow is shaped slightly differently

The jotter clip is attached by a metal ring over the back of the end forming a collar for the button. The classic looks tpo be almost clamped in place on the barrel itself, more like a Sheaffer.

Pretty pen though, I have a MIB pen/pencil set that I'm contemplating making non MIB ;)

Hi Waterman,

There are a number of differences between the Jotter and the classic. The classic is a little smaller around, but about 1/4 inch longer. The big difference is how the clip is mounted. The Jotter has the clip mounted on top of the cap and the classic has the clip pressed into the side of the cap. The clips also looks very diferent from each other. About the only thing they have in common is they both use the standard Jotter refill. Classics have not been in production for a number years now. If you look at the bottom 2 trays of pens, the ones on the left are Jotters and the ones on the right are classics. Hope this helps you out some

Parkercrazy (I ask myself why you choose that name...),

you truly have an awsome collection of Classics BC there!!! The only one I don´t see there is the (I don´t know the name) flighter with gold trim. Congrats for your beautiful collection...

By all means, my all time favourite BP ever ever...
