FPN Galileo Manuscript Brown Ordering Information

Hello All,

The first shipment of 144 bottles of ink arrived today. The ink looks great and the label is fantastic.

I'll start packaging the ink up this weekend to ship on Monday to all those who have paid thus far.

If you haven't paid, especially the earlier orders, please get your money paid ASAP. Otherwise there's a chance your order could be bumped to the second shipment allowing those who have already paid to receive their orders sooner.

Thanks all,

Bryan

Thanks, Elaine. Is the second order close to being placed? I've not yet received an invoice to pay, but realize that all this processing is voluteer work. Just wanted to get an order placed in time.

How soon we get the next batch out depends on how fast we reach the minimum number to cover our costs.

You should get an invoice soon. Bryan got the ink in the mail yesterday so I suspect he may be a bit busy :-)

How will this be handled long term?

Will it be open-ended, and we'll all ways be taking orders, waiting for it to total 80 and then arranging manufacture?

Or will it be discontinued?

Hi William,

First of all: no, it will not be discontinued, as long as there is an interest in this ink.

Regarding the amounts required to (re)order: the initial order had to be 144 bottles. The second batch about a quarter, or multples thereof.

The reason for asking a minimum number of paid orders is quite straightforward. This ink is expensive, and requires a certain layout beforehand. We can't ask any volunteers to pay for this up front, as substantial amounts are involved, and in the past members who did little projects here have lost money, even though it is a little, with doing things for the community here.

Since then FPN has become a non-commercial organisation, essentially run by the admins. As we need to make money somehow to pay for hosting, there is a donation button at the top of the page, and there are and will be projects like the FPN ink.

Now, I do not think that we would be very good managers, if we would let the funds we require for hosting, etc., we have acquired for FPN so far, get depleted by negative project results. Hence the minimum paid ordering quantities we have outlined. For the first batch that was 80, and for the second, smaller batch, that is 30 (as we announced). The batches are larger than 80 or 30, but it ensures that we do not buy in ink supplies at a loss. We are talking purely about actual incurred costs here, not about labour, admin, etc., as that is all provided by volunteers.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, as long as there is still stock above the minimum quantities we needed to buy a batch, we can order and ship upon payment. If the batch is finished, we need another minimum amount of prepaid bottles of ink before we can order. This is all about consolidation of funds for the continuity of FPN. As I said, FPN is not a commercial organisation, and, apart from the management issues and continuity of the forums, FPN just doesn't have the funds to run risks regarding to buying in quantities of stock items.

I hope you understand.

Warm regards, Wim

Payment just sent for one bottle via paypal. I've got a golden perl '36 Parker Vac that should look great with this ink. Of course it would look good with the burgundy '48 Parker "51" too. Or maybe the...my other inks are going to get jealous.

Excellent! That's just the answer I was hoping for.

I trust we'll get regular updates on stock and so forth?

William

Thank you, William!

I reckon we should be close to fullfilling the second batch, if not there already. I actually ordered 8 bottles of ink :D, to save on shipping costs I tell myself , and was too late for the first batch. So I guess we should be close to filling the second one. I assume we will hear more on Monday.

Warm regards, Wim

Any new updates on shipping? My Dani Trio Mother of Black Pearl is anxious for it. I'm #81, almost there........... Sometimes my eager anticipation gets the best of me.

Yesterday, I told myself it'd come, and today, I said the same thing. Maybe it'll come tomorrow. :D
