The Silver Lining - Please Post Pics Of Your Sterling Silver Pens In This Thread

My meager contribution:

As modest as it appears, it took years to complete the set at a reasonable price*, having started with just the FP and the box.

*Remember: It is not enough that you have a collectible as nice as someone else, but it's just as important that you paid less for yours. ;)

Very nice! I've had a similar FP (Touchdown) for some time. I picked up a pencil at the 2009 LA Pen Show. And I just got another pencil and a ballpoint as a set in today's mail. All of mine are the diamond pattern rather than the rhomboid pattern of your set. I think these (both patterns) are the very top of the Imperial line, with the sole exception of the solid gold Masterpieces.

I don't have pictures of my set yet, but when I do I'll post them on this thread. I'm going to knock some of the tarnish off of the two new acquisitions, but will be careful to not take it all off and to leave all of the black in the grooves. I just want to get the two new-to-me items to more or less match the other two which have a very nice patina.

Gorgeous.... Patina and all :)

I used to avoid silver pens as I wasn't very enthusiastic about them losing their shiny appearance.

This is my first sterling silver pen and I’m still trying to overcome my OCD and enjoy the patina it formed as it is.

Montblanc Meisterstück Doué Silver Barley (146);

As promised earlier:

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j66/sexauerw/SterlingImperialSet.jpg

Touchdown fountain pen followed by two pencils and then two ballpoints. The bottom ballpoint has the rhomboid pattern instead of the diamond pattern, and seems to have rhodium plating over the Sterling silver. It also has a diamond instead of the normal white dot, the inset shows a front view of the diamond. An unusual pen.

Ive been looking into 3-4 silver pens by Visconti. Do you mind posting pictures of how it writes? :thumbup:

Sorry I havent inked it yet - probably be a few more weeks before it breaks into rotation - will post when it does.

Top is the Eleganza in the plain finish with the Emerald Green resin; middle the Privilege that used a Sapphire Blue resin in the Greek Key guilloche and bottom is the Privilege Deco with the Moonstone Grey resin and the Art Deco guilloche.

Love the Waterman, and would love to see the nib as well.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you may just find you get what you need

Great pen. I enjoy using my retro. Great nib, nice weight. The engraving on your pen is very fine indeed.

Otis Sterling Silver Rollerball. I truly love the handmade look of these pens. This rollerball also has two amethysts - a heart shaped stone at the end of the clip, and a large cabachon at the end of the pen.
