I just registered with FPN today and would be honored to make your pen dreams come true.

I am in the USA but ship world wide via USPS 1st class.

I create from kits and modified kits fountain, roller ball, ball point and pencil.

Mediums are your usual suspects of highly figured wood, self cast colorful acrylics and resins of all sorts allowing the use of any material including Alpaca wool or any such material or keepsake that is dear to you.

My standard series is at

I just found North View Crafts

By

Martin & Kay England at

http://www.northviewcrafts.co.uk I went round to buy a second hand washing machine and was surprised to find he makes pens, and fountain pens from wood, deer antler and bullets. His specialty appears to be whisky casks such as the local poison "Old Pultney Town".

If you do get in touch with him be sure to say hi from Eoghan!

I'll toss my hat into the ring here as well.

I make both Kit and Modified Kits. Styles include Fountian Pens, Roller/Gel Point, Ball point and pencils. I prefer to work in natural wood and love the "exotics." The more character the wood has, the better to me.

I have also developed a coloring method to color maple and other non descript woods to to make them look interesting.

I have instock a number of blanks just waiting to become fine pens for someone.

I'm a fairly new addition here, but I'd like to be considered by the members.

1. Maryland, USA (just outside DC)

2. Kit pens. I'll eventually get into totally custom, but family, work, and school don't allow much time for practice.

3. I make all types, fountain, roller, ball, and pencil.

4. To date, I've used woods, stabilized woods, acrylic, antler, and buffalo horn.

5. www.swearingen-turnings.com

6. I can install whatever type of filler will fit into the kit that I use. The pen below uses either a punctured bladder or a screw-type piston filler.

This is the first FP I made. I've since learned to NOT take the picture of the pen supported on the nib. Please forgive my mistake! It's made from spalted amboyna burl in a Jr. Gent II kit. Nib is stock; upgrades can be ordered.

Hello all. I guess I've been kinda holding out on this, as I really like to take the 'artistic drive' wherever I wants to go, but on the other hand, I also really like making pens that people love. So, I'll throw my post in here as well.

1 - Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

2 - Work: Custom 'kitless' pens, primarily in acrylic resin and poly resin. I will do occasional kit pen work. I prefer making clipless pens as my focus is on the form and shape of the pen, and I find the clip detracts from that. Having said that, I certainly do pens with clips as well.

3 - Writing Instruments: Mostly custom Fountain Pens (cart/converter), though occasionally will do rollerball/ballpoint if I am doing a kit.

4 - Materials used: Currently focusing on acrylic resins and polyresin. Also do some work with exotic woods.

5 - Galleries:

Hello out there,

Yes, I do pens on order:

1. Located in Croatia.

2. No Kitting. Totally Custom.

3. Fountain pens mainly, but I can make Rollerball, Ball Point, Pencil.

4. Cartridges and piston converters for now, currently making an eye droper.

5. Prefer a brass and aluminum in combination with wood. My pens are not shining, an have no overlay, and are indestructible.

6. Because I make a complete pen, I can create to your desire or design.

7. The price for these pens are around a 90 euros (with steel nib...).

  1.
  2. USA, Ohio
  3. A lot of kits, some modified, and a few, nearly-full custom (i.e., minimal metal: couplers, etc.)
  4. Fountain pens, rollerballs, very few ballpoint
  5. Acrylic, some celluloid, some metals, soft stone: alabaster, soapstone, antler, cast-resin
  6. Pensafari.com
  7. fountain pen cartridges/pistons, and starting to work on sac fill mechanisms now

I have been moving towards completely custom pens, but still rely on couplers, feeds, etc vs. completely crafting all sections + threads (vs. custom body, threading, etc.). As of Jan 2012, I am working the non-kit pens in the larger, lighter body sizes -- consistent with the El Grande/Churchill size.

I believe I am the only one who has been making and selling Alabaster fountain pens

Looks like I'm a little late for the party but better late than never! I have been making custom pens for several years and have made pens on request on several occasions. One thing that appeals to my customers is that I custom blend my resins and can match virtually any color.

Here are some particulars:

I am located in Show Low, Arizona and I spent several years assembling kit pens and while I don't make them anymore, I can upon request. My passion is making my own line of fountain pens with the occasional rollerball pen. I make everything from scratch except the nibs and feeds. I love working with silver and my more recent pens include a nice mix of silver embellishments. I generally make pens that use cartridges or converters but have made button fillers, button fillers and can make just about anything one wants. I have a nice collection of exotic woods as well as acrylic, cebloplast, ebonite and trustone materials.

To see the type of work I do, please visit my website: Arizonapenco.com

Regards,

George Butcher

It's gonna end where 1929 left us: a world war, shambles, and 'growth by rebuilding'. That's the conservative view of cycling history --and the big plan. Even if our generations perish.
    • lamarax Today 0:49
Of course trade wars are much, more important than the prices of consumer products. The true intention is to weaken the dollar, so that the Chinese start selling their US held debt. But the dollar being the defacto world reserve currency, it doesn't lose value that easily. So the idea is to target trade through artificially raising prices. Problem is, inflation will skyrocket. Good luck with that.

In Europe, the only (truly) American produced brand is Esterbrook AFAIK. Tariffs will make Esterbrook products compete on the same level as some high-end European brands (let's say Aurora), while clearly the product is manufactured to compete on a much lower price level.
    • lamarax Today 0:24
So let's say you want to buy a Montblanc or whatever. You pay the current tariff on top of the usual price, unless your local distributor is willing to absorb (some) of the difference
    • lamarax Today 0:20
Tariffs are paid by the importer, not the exporter.

No replies required to my complaints about the Pelikan. A friend came to the rescue with some very magnification equipment - with the images thrown to a latge high res screen. Technology is a wonderful thing. Thanks to Mercian for the reply. I had been using the same paper & ink for sometime when the "singing" started. I have a theory but no proof that nibs get damaged when capping the pen. 👍
    • Mercian 22 Oct 22:28
@FineFinerFinest: sometimes nib-'singing' can be lessened - or even cured - by changing the ink that one is putting through the pen, or the paper that one is using. N.b. *sometimes*. Good luck

I'm not expecting any replies to my question about the singing Pelikan nib. It seems, from reading the background, that I am not alone. It's a nice pen. It's such a pity Pelikan can't make decent nibs. I have occasionally met users who tell me how wonderful their Pelikan nib is. I've spent enough money to know that not everyone has this experience. I've worked on nibs occasionally over forty years with great success. This one has me beaten. I won't be buying any more Pelikan pens. 👎

I've had a Pelikan M805 for a couple of years now and cannot get the nib to write without singing. I've worked on dozens of nibs with great success. Ny suggestion about what's going wrong? 😑

Hello all - New here. My Art studies have spilled me into the ft pen world where I am happily submerged and floating! I'm looking to repair some cheap pens that are starving for ink yet filled, and eventually get new nibs; and development of repair skills (an even longer learning curve than my art studies - lol). Every hobby needs a hobby, eh ...

Perhaps it's like saying Beetlejuice 3 times to get that person to appear, though with @Sailor Kenshin you only have to say it twice?

@Seney724. The pen was recently disassembled and cleaned, but the nib and feed were not properly inserted into the holder. I'm in Maryland.
    • Diablo 26 Aug 21:32
@Seney724. The nib section needs to be adjusted properly.

Hello! Is there a thread anywhere 'round here where one can post self-composed poetry? If not, would it be alright if I made one? I searched on google, but to no avail...
    • OldFatDog 26 July 19:41
I have several Parker Roller Ball & Fiber Tip refills in the original packaging. Where and how do I sell them? The couple that I've opened the ink still flowed when put to paper. Also if a pen would take the foller ball refill then it should take the fiber tip as well? Anyway it's been awhile and I'm want to take my message collection beyond the few pieces that I have... Meaning I don't have a Parker these refills will fit in 🙄
    • RegDiggins 23 July 12:40
Recently was lucky enough to buy a pristine example of the CF crocodile ball with the gold plating. Then of course I faced the same problem we all have over the years ,of trying to find e refill. Fortunately I discovered one here in the U.K. I wonder if there are other sources which exist in other countries, by the way they were not cheap pen

Just checking on a classified section and where we are with that. Many thanks. Bill
    • PAKMAN 29 June 1:57
@inky1 The software for the classified stopped working with the forum. So no we don't have a sales section anymore at FPN
    • inky1 28 June 16:49
