Bodies That Take Jetstream Refills

Hi,

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find an answer. Basically I need a BP in my writing arsenal for those glossies and carbon copy writing and I've settled on the Uniball jetstream series really well.

However, I'm not exactly a fan of how they look and am wondering if any of the forumers have experimented in fitting the Jetstream refills into other better looking bodies?

Doesn't have to be overtly regal but of a respectable 'standard'. I take effort in maintaining aesthetics and am really sick of clients commenting on the 'cheap' looking BP in my stationery display. It kind of detracts from the whole point of having an elegant set of writing instruments when all they notice is that crummy pen.

I've resorted to hiding this one in my desk drawer, to be taken out only when required but am looking at the possibility of getting a better pen body to accomodate this refill?

Any advice appreciated.

I'm interested in this topic, too. Like Jetstream but want something that doesn't look so disposable.

With a little bit of trimming (at the back of the refill after removing the small cap there) I managed to fit one in a MB starwalker rollerball body. It didnt work for a friend of mine so I dont know if it works universally.

best of luck

The wide spot on the Jetstrean refill makes it look like it was intentionally designed not to fit in anything else.

Have you tried the Parker gel refills? They're pretty good, and then you'd have a broad choice of pens to put it in.

Doesn't the Sherpa line accommodate the Jetstream? They're pretty cool looking shells. I got mine from Pencity.com

since the jetstream series are practically interchangeable with the Pilot G2, then it opens you up to a lot of possiblities: Montblanc (too expensive) and Lamy RB included.

Alright, so I spent some time with a boxcutter and a nailfile and fashioned this thing. It's functional for clicking...but I messed up my measurements and was about a cm off, making it non-functional for writing. I took the top off an expired Visconti refill, and there are a few other not obvious steps but I'm trying something new so I won't bother you with them. I just ordered some plastic parker-style refills from ebay (2.99 shipped) and hopefully these will result in a cleaner, more stable refill (along with my use of a dremel). One thing that came up is that you need a bigger spring (in width) than the usual Jotter spring. I found one in an old mechanical pencil.

I can't be much help in recommending a pen that takes Jetstream refills.....but ........

Are you trying to find an alternative pen that takes the Jetstream Retractable refill or the original 'capped' Jetstream?

I'm sure you already know this but...... they take completely different refills...

The SXR-C1 fits the original Jetstream......and the SXR-10 fits all the retractable refills...... see......www.cultpens.com.....

FWIW the original Jetstream is a much better refill than the retractable......maybe I just got a couple of duff pens.....just my opinion you understand......

FIO they both write a 0.45mm line....apparently :hmm1:

Resurrecting an old thread here, but I just put a Jetstream refill (the one with the cap not the RT) in Waterman Expert II RB and it fit fine w/o mod. Best of both worlds for a non FP. FWIW.

Necromancy.

My Kaigelu 356 and Baoer (forget the number) rollerball pens will take a Jetstream refill (but not a G-2 refill).

I adapted using a Jetstream refill in a Lamy 2000 rollerball pen body. I did it by using some O-rings as spacers. One slipped over the narrow part of the front of the refill and one or two O-rings were placed at the back inside the rollerball body to keep the refill pushed out the right amount. Tomorrow I will post pictures and the O-ring size, which you can buy at any hardware store.

sadly I don't think this one is available outside japan

if the barrel is the same ideally it should fit the signo RT refills as well
