FPN Ink Label!!!!!!

Thanks for all the nice words!

I tried putting "Galileo Manuscript Brown" on one and the same line, but that resulted in the words becoming very small. Technically it's absolutely no problem, though, and the title remains legible. However less so than with the title split up.

Here's the first draft with the title on one and the same line:

Here's the third (and most recent) draft with the title split between two line:

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l143/arcis1814/fpn_ink_label_03.jpg

As you can see there would be space next to the FPN for a motte like the one Viseguy, Bill e.a. have been discussing. Any preferences?

Best regards!

(Now I'm off for ham 'n eggs )

Edit: no ham 'n eggs for me because someone ate the last eggs...

True.  What I had in mind was not the reflexive, but the impersonal, use of si.  As in Come si scrive...? (How does one write...?), or Si scrive che... (It is written that...).  Here, I was thinking that Eppur si scrive would mean, "Yet one writes."  But maybe it doesn't work.

The original quote resonates.  Or, no quote.  As Bill said, less is more.

I see; with that meaning, the sentence would then be grammatically correct, but still sound somehow weird. In any case, I am impressed by your knowledge of Italian. Where did you study it? Or are you of Italian origin?

And I agree: the "original" quote would be a better motto for the label.

...snip...

This is getting better all the time. I like the look of this version. It has the Noodler's name in their logo which helps identify and brand the product and it has the FPN logo. I personally do not see the need for the FPN web address. <shrugs shoulders>

I hate to open this can of worms, but are we working with correct size label? Some of Noodler's specialized inks, such as the

Lexington Grey, have a larger label that wraps around two or even three sides of the bottle.

If we had the size luxury of a two sided label then the side panels on either side of the main label could have details such as "2006 Limited Edition Fountain Pen Ink Created for the Fountain Pen Network" or Noodler's "Eternal" or "Bulletproof" or "Ph Neutral" or whatever claims Mr. Tardiff has for this ink. We most likely also need to incorporate some things like the volume of ink in the bottle and the "Made in the USA" moniker.

Just my two cents.

This is my preference.

The Noodler's Ink logo can be smaller.

Video, we can have any kind of label configuration. We were planning on having the 3" X2" wrap around. But I don't think splitting the info from front to sides wold look good. (Just my opinion, not based in any kind of artistic knowledge)

If anyone has a bottle of Noodler's Socrates, take a look. It's a good example of how it can work. It even has a motto - small - in the upper right. I have a bottle, but I don't have time to reproduce it today.

Looking lovely. To me, "Noodler's Ink Galileo" on the same line doesn't make sense. Maybe that's how Galileo would have written it in his broken English :o , but to most ears, "Noodler's Ink / Galileo Manuscript Brown" would scan better.

But the best to have "Galileo Manscript Brown" on top and the Noodler's logo on the bottom.

This needs to be tilted a bit, but it is bolder.

Added your newest creation. ;) I addition to what has already been said I would consider prior knowledge of the size the label quite usefull... Who decides what size we get?

I think that's just about perfect to my eyes. Wonderful, creative work - thank you :D

Am I the only one who thinks the G is ambiguous? Or is it a reproduction of his own handwriting?

Otherwise, it's stunning!

I agree

Would that be just below the portrait, below the FPN-logo or below the URL?

I actually think the Noodler's logo should be on the label instead of my "Noodler's Ink," too. lol

Added Noodler's logo. Since it has "interesting" bend to it, it's not the most layout-friendly graphic. The current layout is a suggestion of how to integrate both logo's, but I could imagina us wanting to let the FPN-logo stand out more. Let me know.

How about the Noodler's on top and "Galileo Manuscript Brown" below my illustration?

Personally, I don't like the logo's overlapped. The Noodler's logo can be quite small. It is very small on some inks, a little larger on other's. Again, my preference only, but I would like to retain the size of the FPN logo.

Edit: For example in Hana's last sample above, the Noodler's logo can be reduced drastically, and placed sideways, or diagonally in any open space. As I said before, for those of you who have different colors' of Noodlers (or even just one I guess), look at the bottles and the different ways the Noodler's logo is incorportated.

Edit #2: I really like the "Galileo Manuscript Brown" in that sample
