I like portrate of Galileo.

As of the ink name, I suggest:

"Epure si muove"

his last words from the trial, meaning, "yet it is moving.

I think Bill is right on the money.

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

None of the other Noodler's ink says Fountain Pen Ink.

OK, whatever. The Noodler's logo says "Ink", and I suppose that is sufficient.

On another point: "FPN Galileo / Manuscript Brown" makes no sense to me. The color is inspired by a "Galileo manuscript"; if you separate those two words, that idea is lost.

"FPN" alone on top doesn't work, either. It detaches "FPN" from the name of the ink and makes it look redundant to the logo and URL below. We know it isn't redundant, because we know that "FPN" is supposed to be part of the ink's name. But an outsider won't get it.

I'm with Bill. The name should be shortened to "Galileo Manuscript Brown", which fits comfortably on a single line. Alternatively, if we retain "FPN" in the name, the letter size should be reduced accordingly, so that the name still fits on a single line.

I think it's time to take the final decision back to the admin box (hidden deep in the recesses of....well I'm not going to say  )

I think the only thing the admins need to consider now is the suggestion of changing the name of the ink from FPN Galileo Manuscript Brown to Galileo Manuscript Brown.

Hypercamper, Thank you soooooo much for all your work. We'll be in touch!

BTW, the official name of the ink is: FPN Galileo Manuscript Brown.

This name was chosen with the many other inks we had in mind, a limited edition ink each year or so . :ltcapd:

Warm regards, Wim

How about:

FPN LE 2006

Galileo Manuscript Brown

above the portrait? The FPN LE 2006 centered above the color.

The label is not holding us up at all. We're finalizing the order info and announcement. I estimate sometime early this week.

Bob, we're trying for less rather than more info on the label :D

Ooh, so exciting! I wonder what the color will be like..(besides "brown," I already know that much.)

Wim has promised a preview review, so it depends on how swamped he is.

I was very swamped... only got back home last night around 1 am, was away for 4 days, with extremely little access to internet or time to use pens and paper.

I am aiming for this week, still have some pen cleaning to do - very time consuming, and on top of that I will be away for another two long days this week .

I understand that, but if this is a LE ink and there are plans for more LE inks, than it can be used for the future issues as well

FPN LE 2006

Galiilo Manuscript Brown

Next year:

FPN LE 2007

Whatever Color Picked

etc...

It was only a suggestion

his last words from the trial, meaning, "yet it is moving.

I think it is possible to get "Epure si muove" somewhere on the label, but not as the ink name. If you have a few Noodler's inks you can see that some do have quotes on them, fairly small that don't crowd anything. I can consult with Nathan when we're ready. I think we're ready soon.

If so, then we need to decide whether the spelling should be:

E pure si muove

Eppure si muove

Eppur' si muove

or

Eppur si muove

All of the above are correct/defensible; the last is the most common, I believe. ("Epure" is wrong.)

Wasn't it just a legend that he said it? I don't think he wrote it.

Hang in there, Wim...we don't want you really to become the "mad" (as in loco) Dutchman :D I really do hope it gets less stressful and soon :)

Hi all!

I've been away for a long time (since April) and I see that the Galileo ink concept won (I fell off the deep end shortly after the poll for which color to use!)... It warms my heart to read this thread and see all these internet folks coming together and collaborating to make a label (The latest incarnation of it really really looks great). I've been taught that if you're going to create something it should only be amazing, and this whole FPN ink really seems to go along those lines. Hooray to everyone.

I just hope enough ink is made, because from the looks of it, we're going to buy it all up instantly! Please, can we have a safeguard so that dealers do not buy extra bottles for future marked-up resale?

No problem. We'll just make more! Also as this is being sold directly by us (no dealer) there's no problem with that issue either.
