Wow Soot. Congrats mate! Makes me a little bit itchy to buy ... Stop. I've been on pen diet since January... keep it that way :headsmack:

Thanks! K.

Perhaps you could to scratch that itch, relieve that minor irritation-- sometimes that's the best way to go. Ha...

A pen diet you say? I said I go on that after buying my 149, I promptly bought a small sized Boheme Noir in the Madison Ave boutique.

The little things really count.

I have not posted in a while but have a lot of new stuff. That's what happens when your wife and the sales person at the Atlanta Boutique become friends. Every time something new comes out or there is a sale she gets an email. I will post picks later of my latest haul. The biggest of the bunch being the 64 pen case that MB sells. It was not listed on anything that MB shows. I found the product number from an old post and that was how she found it. There is a Elizabeth I 888 on the way as well and this years POA. Others include a silver barley and a pinstripe along with various other pens from the last sale. Pics to come later.

Have a 1952 MB 142 with a flexible Med en route to join its younger 145 sibling :-)

Have to review when it arrives. Thatll give me an excuse to break in my Pentax Spotmatic that I found the other day.

All the Best!

I will take some pictures for comparison when I get it next week.

I have received the pen from my colleague yesterday, and here are the pictures.

** This Masterpiece had a few differences from the "Meisterstück" that I already own -- namely, the usage of hardrubber feeder case, the absence of the "G" after the model number, and the English wording on the cap band.

Enjoy. :vbg:

The later 146 Masterpiece (left) has the feeder case while the earlier Meisterstück (right) does not; nib and feed is directly fitted into the section.

A 164 that I paid $3.00 for. The rest of the story.

The other day I dropped into a Asian resturant to pick

up lunch to take back to the office. I placed by order and

rather than sitting down to wait I decided to stand by the

counter. I stood by the register and was looking down at

this wooden box, open with individual squares.

Inside was a collection of misc pens and a pencil.

I thought it looks like a pen caddy for people who

need a pen to sign their credit card receipts.

These were idle thoughts as I was looking but not really looking, if you know what I mean.

After a second of looking at this box I noticed something

that snapped me out of my stupor! There was the very

familiar white star sitting in the box. I reached in and removed what turned out to be a 164, at least I thought it could be. I decided to see if the owner would sell it to me. I removed a Ten from my pocket and told the woman I would like to buy the pen and would she be interested in selling it? From her reaction I guess she thought I was nuts and

would not take any more than $3. I tried!

Back at the office I looked over the pen and noticed that the clip was sprung, guess that is how it got seperated from it's owner. Over all it is in good shape with all the attention to detail you expect from MB (I own other's). I believe it to be authentic, how about you?

Montblanc 149 medium nib laugh.gif

As a medical student, I make a lot of notes for studying as you can see from the background LOL

Initially, I was a bit disappointed as the flow was not always as smooth as I expected it to be...

Then, I tried changing the way I hold the pen & realised that it has a very narrow sweet spotwallbash.gifwallbash.gif

Now, it writes like a dream roflmho.gifroflmho.gif
