I can't wait to give it a good polish and ink it up.

Well! It arrived with scratches and plating wear, skippy flow, and a nib so misaligned or bent that I didn't need a loupe to see the problem!

I paid $270. Do I a) pay return postage to Europe, or 2) pay MB and a nibmeister to fix this?

Hi whitedot. Can't get your link to work, or the listing has expired, so don't know what the pen is?

Sorry to hear the description, though. I assume you've contacted the seller already?

My gut reaction (without seeing the pen) is to send it back, unless it's some rare grail pen you've been after for years.

I say this based on my own experiences of repairing disappointing pens I've bought. Apart from the expense and inconvenience, I usually feel angry with myself for being 'ripped off' - and the pen seldom becomes a favourite.

All just guesswork in the ether. Hope you arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.

Good luck

Here is the cached copy of the link.

Thank you! Yes, I will be in touch with the seller. It was a 100 Year Starwalker Diamond - semi-grail.

I see the problem in the nib in the last 2 pictures. Anyhow, the description does not match the condition of the pen at all. I say return it or ask for the seller to give a discount.

A WE Shaw, sealed, from Mora stylos, Paris. I was in town for a couple of days. A very beautiful store, with a history. Mr Mora and his co-worker were extremely helpful in the process.

I am in love with the pen! Fine nib ( feels like a medium) smooth and wet with a very subtle feedback.

My very first time breaking the sacred seal of a closed MB! Is it all downhill from here...?

Oh, it is not at all as he had described. Heartache.

Edit: I have been asked to pay for registered return postage and customs fees.

Does this change the picture or inform your suggestions in any way?

Hi

The pen is in good shape and works perfectly , it's used so it has some light scratches that can easily be polished out. And it's a diamond, produced only in 2006.

If you do not like it, i will refund you.

Greetings

Hi

I would like to purchase the Montblanc Starwalker 100 Years -
provided that there are no chips, big scratches, dents, or malfunction with the flow or nib.

Please send me your Paypal address so that I may make payment. Thanks.

Gosh. Not at all as described!

Not familiar with this model, but a quick look around suggests $270 is a bargain?

You will know more than me, but could it still be a bargain once you add repair costs?

Otherwise, yes, you may have to stump for return postage, but no to customs fees, seller is in the wrong and must bear some of the cost.

You may be better off starting a new thread on this matter. Partly because this is the thread where we come to 'show off' our new purchases.

And partly because some members who have better experience and advice on this matter, may miss this because it in in the new purchases thread.

Good luck.

I agree. Thank you very much.

Please accept my apologies for hijacking the thread, and sort of rather raining on everyone's parade. Back to the beautiful new acquisitions!

Most recent MB purchase and first NEW MB purchased in about a quarter century was a Bohéme Rouge from one of the Montblanc Boutiques but when delivered it was not what I ordered.

Hello,

Addicted to writers edition, I made an exception and just received that 144 Ceramic Prisma. I just really like the pen, fine nib, platinum body and ceramic cap. Pictures are better than all I can say:

I haven't inked it yet, I'm wondering which ink I'm going to use...

Fabulous pen Soot. :clap1:

The MB 146 is just the perfect scale to show off the striated look. Congratulations. I hope the pen doesn't take too long to get to you.

Thanks, Pavoni! The pen is in my possession, but not yet in my hands, it should be in my hands next week though. Until then-- I'll just have to hold my other grey 146. ;)

Looks to be a beautiful pen, Soot.

You have a remarkable grey one already....surely you don't need two...

Is this one more greenish? It looks it from the photos??

Hi J, it doesn't look greenish on my screen, perhaps it's the monitor that's making it look green. I will take some pictures for comparison when I get it next week. And yes, I definitely don't need two but I couldn't resist... Maybe there will be more to come. It's addicting.
