I have the same feeling, at first I wasn't attracted to it but the more I look at it the more attractive it is. The swift is a great pen. It's a bit heavy though.

I think that, if possible, you should see and handle a pen in order to make a good judgement. About a year ago I was shopping for a writer's edition and would not have guessed that I'd go home with the Collodi. But in the store, it was just the best match for me.

Granted, I do feel like a Mr. Fancy Pens with that pen and the Collodi does not often leave the house, but I really enjoy writing with it. Part of that may simply be that the pen reminds me of a nice shopping experience: visiting a beautiful store, being able to try various pens, the free bottle of ink etc.

Sigh ........ well my resolution to not buy anymore Montblanc items this year has collapsed before we get half through January !

Two 149's you though would satisfy me but no. I now await a Montblanc tester box with nine pens inside.

Hang on, I have found another way of looking at this. The tester kit is one Montblanc item isnt it? so the nine pens inside dont count !!

There I feel better already

i just received my new to me Jules Verne with a Medium Point. Ill be inking it up with Pilot Iroshizuku ion-peki or the Diamond Blue LE from Montblanc

THe blue body is much more vibrant compared to what pictures show.

I have today received my Jules Verne. What a superb pen & the color is startling. If this is not the best looking writers edition pen then I would like to know what is.

Definitely one of my favourite WE pens. The weight and colour are stunning. Have you inked it yet, how does it write?

I like the MB Diamond ink in mine. Not inked it for a while though - maybe I will when my Mann runs out of ink.

Many congrats!

So are you planning to use it or just let in the bookbox and admire it now and then. I have the regular version. It's a dream to write with it and the handling is just perfect (also B-nib).

My last Montblanc came with a collection of over 160 pens bought by myself and 4 other lucky participants. Many many unbelieveable pens in this collection, all vintage pens.

Here it is in all its mid-1950's celluloid goodness! The celluloid box (hard to find) is a nice touch!

I have purchased several other used pens that I intend to experiment with including a 149,144 & a 72 to see which I prefer. All other pen purchases are currently intended to be put aside for the grandchildren if they have any interest in them as they get older.

Ordered a EF traveler as I was told they are no longer in production. Ordered in December, not yet received, I wonder if MB had to do a nib exchange as there were no more factory traveler EF's available. Also, my tribute to MB white fountain pen was returned this month after a 4 month trip back to Germany for nib exchange to EF.Thankfully I now have three pens including those two and a 145 all EF in perfect working order. That's no simple challenge in my opinion for EF nibs.
