I just picked up my first Montblanc...the Jonathan Swift LE in a medium nib and a bottle of the seaweed green ink. I love it!

Congrats!

I got one too, but with a B-nib.

Thanks! Your pictures of the pen look great!

The Carnegie, Morgan, and Tate are POAs that I'd like very much to own. Very nice. Very nice. (No, not the 1960's movie by that title)

The gold 149 is a favourite of mine. In my 1998/1999 catalogue they used to make the Mozart in that combo and also in platinum. I wonder how much they were

I am showing the Mozart in platinum as model : 12114

and in 18ct two tone gold it is shown as : 1149

Just trying to locate a 1998/99 price list for the Mozart line so maybe I can find out what they were priced at.

As a rough idea in 1998/99 the 144 in solid platinum (12144) was £6,900 (GBP)

Whilst in two tone 18ct the 144 (1449) was £4,950 (GBP)

All the above info relates to the fountain pen variants and prices quoted may not include VAT.

How times change and prices change! I wonder how many mozarts they made in precious metal?

If and when you get your own gold 149 what nib will your preference be? For me it would have to be O3B for such a magnificent piece.

Thanks!

Yes, The nib shows a lot of details. On the leftside there is also a castle/house.

Gosh! Some stunning pens on this thread lately.

Pen Nut. That gold 149 is magnificent. (I guess today is judgement day? Fingers crossed that it's a keeper).

Meanwhile, at the other end of the market:

At last, I have sourced an uncracked cap for the old 254. It arrived this morning. It's been a long quest.

Some great pens getting shown on here as already mentioned. 149 in gold is being 'arm wrestled' over early this evening. Will post a pic if it goes my way.

Couple of glasses of Penderyn then I am being driven over. Thinking of leaving the 'pen in question here' as a bit of a smoke screen
