1. And so why are you at home typing on your keyboard?

2. Stop typing while you're driving, and please slow down.

My latest pens are the Mark Twain and the John Lennon special edition. Now I'm waiting for the Twain leather range.

Any info about dates for the Twain leather? I'm waiting too.

Soon I guess. I was told in November in Europe. Possibly the same for the US.

I got some news that there won't be leather accessories for the Twain. Anyone knows for sure? I was in Paris in September and was told that these leather accessories would be released in November by the boutique there. However, I got news from MB North America that this is not true.

I came home today - after a day's shopping for Christmas (mind you shopping for others!) - with a Thomas Mann WE - totally unexpected purchase. It turns out that I bought myself a Christmas present.

An impulse buy. Made the financial mistake of walking into a renowned fountain pen dealership (actually to do two things - get the new Edelstein Ink from Pelikan and check out the Pelikan Highlighter Pen and Ink Duo). Youthful salesman enthusiastically showed me the LE collectors display and I made the second mistake of asking to see the Mann. Once I handled it, I was a goner. I already have my grail MB WEs (save for Wilde). But what threw me was not because its an MB limited edn but the over look and feel - the presence - of the pen. It feels so very well made, like a precision tool. For other Mann owners, I am sure you would have noticed that the cap closed with an interesting feeling of extras oomph and security. Any idea what is it? I guess I am a sucker for Art Deco and I had not known that it was inspired by that period until I came home and read the booklet.

BTW at the store, they also had the Twain and Lennon. For a moment I was tempted by all three as well but my pragmatism kicked in and I decided on the one that called out to me most. With all honesty, until today the Mann never seemed special. Its seeing it in person that makes the whole difference. This is strange to me.

Plan to photograph the pen after Christmas and share it on FPN. Hope I can show off what the pen said to me in person......

My Oscar Wilde which I collected just over a week ago. It's currently inked with MB Green ink.

Same here. Mine's inked with Pilot Asa-Gao and I just can't put it down.

This week I have bought a Starwalker Doue ballpoint, and an old 31 fountain pen. My first MB pens, love the Starwalker, the 31 hasn't arrived yet but will be my first fountainpen since school about 15 years ago. First of many I am sure!

I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon FPN. About three weeks ago I visited my local John Lewis department store here in Manchester, UK, and got talking to a wonderfully informative employee (Dale) on the MB concession. He was a real pen geek and so inspired me that I sought to learn more, hence this my introduction to this site.

In my role as a HR Director, I tend to write quite a bit and, whilst most of my day is spent sat in front of a computer (touch typist 65+ words a minute), I LOVE to write when I get the chance. I have a reasonable hand.

Once a few years back, I treated myself to MB (Chopin) fountain pen and rollerball set. Sheer vanity of course. Didn't really know what I was buying if I am honest. However, it wasn't until after speaking with the excellent Dale and my subsequent study of the pages within this excellent forum, that I realised how little I really knew about writing with my trusty pen. Now, with a greater awareness, (and patience) I take great pleasure in my writing.

On 10th January is my 50th birthday and clearly I want to mark this special occasion with a remarkable pen. Despite being a newbie as far as FPN is concerned, I now have the real excuse to buy a pen of my choice. I walked into Harvey Nicks Manchester and spotted a number of Writer Edition pens, in particular a Thomas Mann, which took my attention over the Twain. Definitely going to buy it tomorrow and I cannot wait until 4th January when my local Pen Shop opens enabling me to fill it with MB Irish Green. I'm hooked. I only wish I had realised how many beautiful pens there were about the place. Rather than ugly pens, shouldn't we be speaking about the most beautiful?

Just subcummed to an impulse and purchased a used Octavian from a reputable ebay selller. Although way above my ordinary pen budget (blew the year budget already on day 3 of the year.....) I believe I got a good deal a €2400,-.

PS the price was $2400,- and not Euro's!

So you got that spider... Congrats on this catch.

My latest is a 322 blue marbled.

Thanks Sunnerd. Can't wait to receive the pen. Will probably send to MB for service and removal of the engraving. I trust that MB will be able to remove an engraving from silver. Alternatively it can always pay a visit to Eckiethump in Schotland. 322 blue marbled? Sounds like a very nice pen. Haven't seen a blue marbled one. Could you post a picture? Greetings, Mike

This fountain pen is my first Montblanc purchase. The folks at the Montblanc boutique were friendly, courteous, and informative.

This is the Meisterstuck 149 fitted with an EF nib and inked with MB Royal Blue ink. It writes smooth and holds lots of ink. Also,

the pen feels comfortable in my hand.

There are a thousand thoughts lying within a man

that he does not know until he takes up his pen to write.
