This was a great week. Two more 149 demonstrators arrived in the post as did a Pope Julius 888 and 4 bottles of Gandhi Saffron ink. A trip to my local MB Boutique to pick up the Meissen white and a special order Atelier Notebook in Karung leather.

Did I mention that is was a great week....

Oh yes, this sounds like an unbeatable week... Congratulations!

OK so its not an actual Montblanc product but please bear with me

I use my Charles Dickens on a daily basis and have always kept an eye open for the original box but have not, as yet, found one. Then a few weeks ago on E-Bay I saw an advert for a Charles Dickens pen box and thought I would take a gamble as the seller did not seem to know much about it or what pen ever occupied it.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package an found a very well made box inside, the wood is a very dark piano black style and my Charles Dickens fits in perfectly. The top of the box does have an inscription plate on it but considering the price I paid I cannot grumble.

Where the box has the Charles Dickens printed on it inside the box lid there was a registered trade mark symbol to the top right, which has now been hidden by the use of a permanent black marker, so what the origins of this box are is anyones guess.

Picked up this one yesterday.

It is a mint one. Never used and never dipped. The seller didn't even let me dip to try the pen.

Very nice! You seem to have caught the WE-collectors' bug, haven't you? Congratulations. What nib size is it?

I was thinking the same thing. Congratulations KJY.

I too had the bug this week and I've just bought a MB Hemingway with a Medium nib. I expect it to arrive sometime next week. This is the last pen I need to complete my set. I guess I need to find something else to spend my disposable money on now.

Montblanc Writers Edition Franz Kafka (medium nib).

I love the syling of this pen: not ostentatious; elegant, understated and beautiful.

It is currently my favorite pen - the nib is superb.

I am soooo jealous! I haven't ever seen one other than photos but it looks so elegant and a fabulous shape :notworthy1:

Thank you! I am very happy with it too. I filled it with mystery black after a good flush. And writes very smooth.

Wow Hemingway... Hemingway...!

After some saving I will look better for this one or for a Christie.

After this week you will be very down. The rush of completing is very addictive, but what next? We look like real addicts don't we (did someone said WE? Which one? :roflmho:)?

Thank you. I'm looking forward to getting it and putting it with the others.

Im already on a bit of a downer thoug as although I upped my buying rate in the last three years (getting 13 WE pens) it has taken me nine years to complete the set, only with three years off in the middle to save for a house deposit. I think I will take a bit of time away from buying pens now and complete my savings for a new car.

Ultimately I think I will get a Sterling Silver Barley at some point but other than that there are no pens I want. I might buy some Duofolds. I will also review vintage Montblanc as everyone seems to love them - I'm yet to get this bug though.

Agh, seeing this is making me anxious for my 234 1/2G to arrive. Lucky you found yours in an OB nib, that will be a treat! What does yours need to be in fully working order?

Not sure if this counts, but my recent one was a Montblanc wallet...

I just purchased a business card holder :)

I hadn't heard of the 234 1/2 before. What's "special" about it?

A cork that can create a vacuum so it can suck up ink. Mine is a bit worn/dry.

The pistonmechanism is in fully working.

I don't know the difference between yours and mine. What does G stands for and what kind of nib does your has?

A writing sample for you.

Mine is on the way across the pond right now, it has the 14ct nib (m, I think), and was recorked by the member I bought it from. The top of the cap is slightly different.I assumed the "g" meant gold nib, since there were steel nibbed ones too, but I could not say for sure.

KJY, no doubts the Dumas is one of the best WEs ever done by MB, and the nib is perhaps the most beautiful of all them. After your black fill, have a look at the Irish Green: of all the inks I used with the Dumas, it is the one that seems more suited for this gorgeous pen, IMO.

My first FP purchase in a long while...a Tribute to Mont Blanc Fine.

I'm a big 149 fan, because of my large hands, but love the 146 styling. And the lacquer adds some nice heft to it even with the smaller size.

Love it.
