Congrats Andrew - lovely 22!....and a good price I think (doing a quick & rough translation in my head $=£).

You're going to love the nib - very smooth writer, softish - not flex but not hard if that makes sense. I have the 12 & it's a great little pen.

The nib looks to be seated OK in the fourth pic down, so I wonder if the 'misalignment' is due of the angle of the lower photo.

Very nice find - I'd have been bidding against you had I been at home!

Congrats on your 121. Isn't the 12 a 18k nib as well?

Bought a 146 solitaire desk pen, without base, which still had a small part of the snapped of base attachment stuck in the cap. Rolex jeweller friend soon had snapped off bit removed, thread chased and size required identified. What to mount it on :hmm1: Poss Bentley wheel trim centre or granite cube.

As a temp home is as below.

Also doubles as a page rest as well !!

I just bought the most expensive pen I've ever owned--

A Montblanc 22 from yoola-de:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261067649050

How much did I overpay, if at all?

Does the nib look misaligned? Or am I just crazy?

...

:headsmack:

Congrats again Andrew! You're gonna love that pen and won't be able to go back ( it happened to me with the 24!)

Pen nut, I'm really curious about what that desk pen gets mounted to, the Bentley part is an interesting idea.

Montblanc Writers Edition Franz Kafka (medium nib).

I love the syling of this pen: not ostentatious; elegant, understated and beautiful.

It is currently my favorite pen - the nib is superb.

Oh I could totally get into a purple Generation. And I don't even like narrow pens. :headsmack:

The 149s weren't too bad. The least I paid was $357 and the most $550 outside of the new one, which was $650 back when I got it. Spreading the purchases over a few years, it wasn't too bad. It's all the OTHER pens I felt I just had to have that really added up! :gaah:

I just paid for a Kafka set from Bryant. It should be here in a week or so. I'll post pics then.

I'm going to the states in a couple of months and plan to get the Swift set and maybe a Brahms. There will also be copious amounts of ink purchased as well.

Really happy with this purchase, a brand new, immaculate pen:

The book in the background is my mother's first edition of "Farewell to arms", published in 1929.

By the way: the Hemingway celebrates its 20th anniversary this year!

Congratulations, it simply does not get any better than this.

Superb pen, without a doubt the finest WE, and that remarkable book.

I'm very envious.

Of all the WE pens, this one is by far the most stunning.

I think I just finished up my early MB buying phase, ordered a 234 1/2G with the 14ct gold nib, now waiting on that and the MB 14 to arrive. I'm telling myself "No more pens until they get here!", but who knows?

Hearty Congrats! But tell me, did you really pay the seller's price or did you manage to negotiate? I was watching what i believe to be the same Generation & blimey! If you paid the asking, my wallet indeed bows down to yours....we are not worthy!

A lovely looker - do tell more when you recieve it!
