I won my first MB, a Bordeaux Classique 144 in its box a few evenings ago at auction, with a bottle of Royal Blue ... $50.

Got a late 80s 149 a few weeks ago, wrote with it a bit and decided it was just too big for me to write comfortably with (surprising being I don't exactly have small hands so I flipped it and purchased a NOS early 90s 146. Perfect size for me :)

Got a MB 146 NOS from the 1990's for my sister's graduation.

Very nice and very thoughtful.

Won in auction a mid 60's 24 a few days ago, it will be my first Montblanc. I don't know why, but I just love the design of the mid 60's 1x,2x,3x line and if I really like the 24 I am thinking of tracking down the rest for a full set.

The Highlander was a documentary, and the events happened in real time.

My latest catch:

A 149 and a WE Shaw both with M-nibs.

Finally I got some pens with an ink-window

Will take some pics this weekend.

The pen writes smooth and feels like the Mann as you said.

But today I have filled and used the 149.

And as promised here some pics:

Very nice pictures, thank you! Especially the one of the Shaw's nib, looks almost like it's backlit.

I like the four caps in a row, as if they're standing guard.

I have always been a bit ambivalent about the 149. It's far from a bad pen, but I've always found mine to be very much on the stiff side. I have other Montblanc pens that I find more enjoyable to write with (e.g. Mann, Shaw and Bernstein). And I don't have any trouble with big pens. I probably did not catch one from the right era.

Enjoy yours!

Cheers,

Peter

I just got off the phone with Pen Haven. I purchased a 1980's 149 Broad nib. Guess I will still be looking for another one with an OB or OBB nib - but I'm happy!

Thanks for your nice comments.

The nib of the Shaw was just taken from loose hands (yeah I have steady hands).

I used a canon DSLR with external flashlight. After that cut the picture with Picassa3 software and it automatically turns into a full screen nib-shot.

I doubt about the 149 a long time. Personally I do not like the goldtrim and prefer the platinumtrim more. Unfortunately MB doesn't make the 149 like the 146P.

But getting the 149 was part of a deal together with the Shaw. And as stated before I really like an inkwindow in a pen. No suprises during a important meeting. I wrote with it the whole day. Yes it is stiff, but the grip is very good. Time will tell if I like this one.

Kind regards,

KJY

Yesterday a recieved the WE Cervantes and the POA Semiramis. :bunny01: :bunny01:

The Semiramis came sealed. Since I'm more of a user off pens than a collector, I will soon find a moment to unseal it and fill it up with the Ghandi ink I recieved with it as a gift from the seller. .

So much to do ! B)
