Just got the Lennon Commemorative edition for my birthday.

Came as a huge surprise. I had been contemplating the pen but was deferring the buying decision as I have spent a huge amount on pens lately.

All I can say is that I am extremely happy with gift. It is a gorgeous pen which I highly recommend.

Cheers

I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to posting pics but will give it a shot. Apologies in advance as I am not a great photographer.

My fondness for the Montblanc 146 now includes a circa 1952 146G, a solid, warm pen, smaller than later models. This pen is equipped with the telescoping piston filler, working smoothly with remarkable ink capacity. The metal parts of the piston mechanism add a heftiness to the pen but the balance is good and writing unposted is a pleasure. I tend not to post my celluloid pens to avoid scuffs to the cap and barrel end.

The OBB nib is smooth and effortless, a writer's dream. I did adjust the nib and feed three times to achieve the ink-flow appropriate for me. Tense moments when taking this precious pen apart.

A wonderful classic pen I feel very lucky to own.

Sorry for all the pictures of my new child. :happyberet:

The photos show a 144G, the 146G and a 1970s 146 for comparison.

Ok, seriously? I don't want to play this game anymore. I think that's my pen budget for the next three lifetimes...

Serious?

Do you like the Twain that much?

2 Twain bpt, 1 Twain ballpt = total 3 Twain bpt?

I just bought my second MontBlanc fountain pen. Its a 149 and has the OM nib. So I am trying to learn to write so the nib works. My first nib that wasn't a fine or medium and its taking some getting used to using it. But the pen is beautiful. I will grow to love that feel.......

Just got given a spontaneous present by my wife and mother: a broad-nibbed 149 they bought here in Monaco on a whim.

The nib is more like a stub than a regular broad with amazing line variation; butter-smooth and slightly soft with just the mildest hint of feedback. :cloud9:

My first 149, and I gotta say: I can see what all the fuss is about...

Too many pens; too little writing.

Please choose the more appropriate response:

1. And so why are you at home typing on your keyboard?

2. Stop typing while you're driving, and please slow down.
