Picked this on up today, a never used Platinum trim 146. Long story short, the owner recieved as a gift, ( not a pen person), it didn't come with ink, so he bought cartrdiges at an office supply store. Not knowing how to fill the pen, he stored it away until today when I purchased it.

not pictured is the orginal box of MB ink cartrgidges that he gave me to fill the pen.:roflmho:

Good move, Soulmaker! We have three 146 Platinum in our family, and all have a lot of use. Congratulations!

Very beautiful piece, congratulations. I had not seen this one before. Oh well, never to old to learn.

Ehm...still working on the stand?smile.gif

I'd be curious to see it complete.

Cheers,

Peter

Wow, that is gorgeous! I have not seen this pen before either.

Looks great just on it's own. Must be a knock out with the stand...but then you would have to tuck away that beautiful cap.

Congratulations,

Inked

Edit: Does the cap screw into the stand?

Such a beauty, Francisco! One of my preferred POA in absolute, a really stunning pen. Enjoy it.

Wow, that Carnegie is stunning! First time I've seen one, beautiful.

My Montblanc purchases are on lesser heights I'm afraid, and seldom.

To accompany my 3/4 year old Starwalker, just yesterday I finally bought a Meisterstuck 12 in nr mint condition from good pen-friends - I just loved the understated elegance of

the thing... I am looking forward to its arrival.

Next purchase: ooh, about 2015!

If I deny I have an addiction, does that mean I have an addiction....

I thought I would put up my 4 recent purchases together In one shot. The ink blotter I picked up today for $5.00 the other items were all "gently used", MB 146 M, MB 149 F, and a two pen MB case. I think that the ink blotter is a bit of a Frakenblotter, the handle fits a bit tight and the there is more space between the top and bottom that holds the paper in place...but, as I will not be changing that often, it will do the trick.

What is the most reliable place to get a MB Pen case (short of one of the authorized dealers). Any ebay listings you guys can point me to?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for sharing. Saw your sample. NICE!

And what nib does the Shaw has and how does it write? Asking because I am considering one with a M-nib.

Thanks. My Shaw has a broad nib and it is just as smooth as the Mann. Very beautiful and well-balanced pen, provided you don't post. There's a lot of weight in the cap. By its looks it probably is my favorite WE but this could change by the day. Can only recommend it smile.gif

Thank you for your reply.

I also have the Mann and I am not a poster. So I have a good reference than.

My new (enough) Mark Twain. It was a store demonstrator purchased for a fair price. A lot of class and just enough pizazz. It writes like a dream. I am afraid I bought a grail pen too early into this hobby!

Don't worry, there will be more to come... many more... far too many more!

Congrats on your Twain. It's somewhere on my wish-list, but not yet up there smile.gif.
