My last (and first !) Montblanc is not a buy, it's a present, this winter, from a good friend of mine. She won a 149 a looong time ago in her compagny (a business challenge), never used it, and offered me this pen for my birthday. She didn't use it, but her childrens played a little with, when they were youger... The 149 is a sturdy pen !

I could date it as a pen from the end of the 80': bi-color 18k nib, with ebonite feeder and plastic thread. I find the nib curious : I suppose it's a F, but write a very little like arab/hebrew nib (thicker horizontal lines). I don't know if it is normal. Perhaps this nib has suffer, I don't know...

Any opinion about this nib is welcome !

Waterman Man 100, Pelikan M605, Montblanc 146 & 149, Parker Duofolds and 51s, Sheaffer Triumph and Intrigue, Lamy Safari, Pilot 78G and Pluminix...

PR Electric DC Blue, Herbin 1670 inks, Waterman Havana and purple, Montblanc Petrol Blue ...

MB 146 XF - Just the normal resin one. I find the 146 the perfect size for longer sessions and I have enough "bling" pens to appreciate the elegance of the "less is more" philosophy ;)

Not so glamorous, but a real nice writer. Got this in the mail today, from Bryant. A 121 with an oblique-broad nib. Writes like a dream, as smooth as any 50-year old pen could be. A real fun nib.

I was given a bottle of ink exactly like that for my birthday along with my tortoiseshell brown Pelikan M400. Mine was NOS so it must be 10 years old. I don't know much about it myself.

My latest Montblanc purchase is a Thomas Mann WE FP. I'm waiting for the courier to bring it.

I recently bought a new Meisterstück Classique with a medium nib to add my inner core of everyday working pens. This was my first MB purchase and I decided I wanted a new pen as there is something particularly pleasing about starting a new dynasty in your collection with something new and fresh. From here though I shall be looking out for an older 149 and a 146 also.

Picked this on up today, a never used Platinum trim 146. Long story short, the owner recieved as a gift, ( not a pen person), it didn't come with ink, so he bought cartrdiges at an office supply store. Not knowing how to fill the pen, he stored it away until today when I purchased it.

not pictured is the orginal box of MB ink cartrgidges that he gave me to fill the pen.:roflmho:
