Soot, the Jade is GORGEOUS!

Okay, I finally got a MB for myself, a so near mint condition 121 that I had to use my 30x loupe to find signs of wear. It has the OB nib, which I'd never tried before, but is as buttery, velvety smooth as any Montblanc I ever used. It's first fill is Noodler's La Couleur Royale. I'm all giddy happy and can hardly put it down. Thank you, fellow FPN member who sold it to me!

Don't you wish we could use our pens to write on the Fountain Pen Network Fora?

Forgive the iPhone picture, but this is a quick scrawl featuring my O3B 149 so you can get an idea how it behaves on cheap standard ruled paper. It's a daily writer for me.

Thank you very much. That is very helpful and I think my choice will be a OBBB. It appears to have a nice depth/ width which I really like.

Also thank you for the ink colour, very interesting and it is certainly one to think about.

Thanks

At first I hesitated buying the ink, but with the O3B, I haven't found an Iroshizuku yet that was too pale for daily use. The Fuyu-gaki is pushing it, but the nib puts down enough to keep it from looking like I'm writing with highlighter.

The picture was taken using only daylight and it's a gray day here.

Very interesting. :hmm1:

Thank you. Even so, I am still able to get a good idea of the thickness et cetera.

Best Wishes

Not sure what the dating would be but I'm guessing either a late 70s early 80s 149 that was sent in for major service in the early 90s (14C two tone nib with early plastic feeder and 2 section body and serial number on the cap) or an early 90s 149 with a 14C two tone nib. Best guess would be an EF nib. Very nice! Now I want another... damn this slope.....

Not a pen this time, but a bracelet of MB for my wife for mothers' day.

I wanted to try to convince her why I like this brand that much.

It even has a MOP-star. (None of my pens has it yet  )

Nice bracelet - I have the same bracelet but went for the heart & diamond. I have MOP star in my Princess Grace FP.......

You can't have too many fountain pens.....

I currently have a Boheme with a BB nib and love it. Have you used any black ink with this nib? Unfortunately, my O3B nib is on backorder, so it will be a while before I receive the pen as the nib has to be swapped out.

I almost never use black ink. Ever. In any of my pens. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a fountain pen to my mind. :headsmack:

If you think the Boheme nib is good...Just...You...Wait! I thought I loved OBBs when I bought a Boheme fixed nib with one. Then I went bigger :cloud9:

Please allow me to show something quite different: Montblanc 244G + 272 mechanical pencil + case, likely from the late fifties according to the seller (maxpens).

The package arrived today. What you see are my first scribbles with the extra-fine nib.

My new Meisterstück Solitaire Gold & Black Fountain Pen (146 I believe) with an M nib. This is my first MB fountain pen and a replacement for it's sister rollerball that was stolen a few days ago. It just arrived yesterday:

After using a few Lamys for a year a few months ago I upgraded to the Mark Twain.

Yesterday I bought a 149.

Loving them.

I would love to buy a Marcel Proust.

But it is no longer available in my country.

Hello

Cogratulations on the 149. A classic fountain pen and icon.

May you use it in good health.

You could probably find a Proust in a little country called Ebay. :)

I was visiting a B&M Authorised Dealer this afternoon and found a NOS of this:

I can't find any official data on this one and the latest product books in the boutique does not have its description. The only lead I have is this website http://www.gopens.com/Vintage-pens-cat-60.php

item no 24.

It says - "1990 - 146S LeGrande Solitaire PIF in Sterling Silver. Discontinued alternating Barley and Plain Panels design. Stainless steel trim. Visualated barrel...."

I'm hoping some of the montblanc expert in this community can tell me more about it. Any additional information to help me know more about this pen would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Life is like Chinatown signage, its cluttering, confusing but everything that you need is there, just have to look harder....
