What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase?

WOW! Nice. And do you like the finish? I was trying to buy a pencase (only 12 pens), but I have seen some pencases of various manufacturers with bad finish at the edges of the case.

The finish is superb. It's lacquered wood, so it's quite heavy. Interior lining is some sort of velvety black cloth. The knobs are metal with the MB emblem. If you have seen the MB boxes for 20 pens or the wooden boxes of the POA and higher LE, it's quite similar in materials and finish. A pair of cloth gloves, a polishing cloth and a loop are included in the three small drawers at the bottom. So, I'm quite happy with it.

Is that for me?

Is it montblanc? Cant find it in the local boutique here. How much it cost you, Darius?

It is MB. I ordered one as soon as I heard they were being made. That was probably a year ago, so it took a long time for it to get here. So long that I saw a few in the boutiques in Dubai before I got mine. I think they were released in boutiques in August/September last year, but in selected countries. I'll PM you the price.

Darius - cheeky of me, I know, but could you let me know the price? It is a gorgeous piece of kit! Thanks

My latest is my 2nd brand new MB fountain pen, the Princess Grace with F nib. Was on holiday in Florida and, well, it would have been rude not to visit the MB boutique......

I prefer big heavy pens - my Ghandi is fantastic to hold and write with - and this is weighted well in the hand. Cartridge only but that isn't an issue - I fill my own - and it writes very very well. In fact, I was astonished how well it wrote from the off.

PS I am not a girlie girl but was quite taken with the purple/gold of the pen!

In the days gone by, people believed that if a person touched an object, that object would form a bond with a part of their soul.

Today such a thought seems almost absurd....Until you enter the realm of Montblanc's master craftsmen.

After much waiting, this finally arrived.

That is a serious and very beautiful piece of pen storage, Darius. May it serve you long and well!

How many pens will it hold? I would guess something like 60?

And it must be a Montblanc state secret, because I can't find anything about these cabinets on their website nor on Google.

Cheers and enjoy,

Peter

Not really a secret, but not advertised either. It holds 64 pens, 16 in each of the 4 drawers. The 3 small drawers at the bottom are for accessories, a pair of gloves, a polishing cloth and a loop. At the very bottom is a tray.

Think I'll stop by the Boutique and have a look next time I'm in Amsterdam. Thanks, Darius.

Soulmaker, I hope you're watching this.....look what I've got... :ninja:

Dark Rhodium plated 149, OB nib. Thanks Tom!

This one is a bit different - the nib is also dark plated, with the white inlay masked off. It looks quite unusual.

Here is it next to an "ordinary" 149:

Very stealthy, ideal for black ops... :ninja:

Congrats! Love that nib!

MB 22 FP, pics on another thread...this one is too intimidating... :roflmho:

It came with a three pen case, as well as a MB 28 ballpoint and MB Pix 15 pencil, the box, the 25 year warranty, and instruction manual! The items do not look like they have been used much if at all! Bit of leather treatment for the case and she squeaks like new. Interestingly, the case has the letters C&E embossed in a triangle and the word Montblanc below that.

I have the addiction... :gaah:

cheers

George

Not a pen this time, but a bracelet of MB for my wife for mothers' day.

I wanted to try to convince her why I like this brand that much.

It even has a MOP-star. (None of my pens has it yet  )

Last week, I ordered a 149 with an O3B nib.

:puddle:

When you receive it, would it be possible if you inform me about what the nib is like?

I would like to get other peoples opinions about such a nib before I consider getting one. I am fairly new to 'the world of Montblanc'. :vbg:

Many thanks

I'm not near a camera, or my pen for that matter, but I'll try to capture the performance of the one I got from a fellow FPNer if you remind me. If you already use BBs, IBs, OBBs and stubs in the 1.3 range, you'll love it. Otherwise, it may be a big mistake [belated pun alert]. I write with 1.3 to 1.5 nib widths and have M1005 3Bs for daily writers, so it's luscious for flow and shading. I would NOT take it to an office where you have to frequently fill out forms. :headsmack:

I have a BB on a Starwalker and I really like it. I have also used a 1.5 or 1.6 on another pen. So a good signing pen possibly for signatures but not forms? :hmm1:

Many thanks
