Mine was a sweet one... I buy and sell ceramics and glass, and in an auction was a 1950s 144. I paid 8 pounds plus commission. Darn commission lol, it almost cost me a tenner!!!!

Picked up a second celluloid 149 that I really don't need, but I couldn't pass it up. I had the silver bands tightened, the threads chased and the reservoir's lines restored by Brad Torelli. I swapped in a nice nib. I'll play with it awhile before I sell or trade it, 'cause I already have one!

Congrats!

Hope you will enjoy it as much (or even more) as I do.

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

A 147 Traveller. As most of you know, it is the same as the 146 except that it is cartridge only. It holds a spare cartridge in the body and comes with a case that holds an additional 6 cartridges. I prefer cartridges when I travel for the convenience. A lot of my travel is by motorcycle and I don't want to worry about an ink bottle getting broken or leaking.

I like sterling. The MoP on top is a nice touch, too.

This is my 3rd Montblanc 139. It has nice flexible double broad nib. It came to me with incorrect feed but I swapped out the feed with more correct smooth flat feed. It also got a good cleaning and polish. The nib required very little adjustment. Here are before, first three and after, last four, pictures.

Just got my first 146. It's a modern one, from 2009.

Got it unused with the sticker still on in it's box, for a very good price.

Inked it up with the Collodi ink, and it is very nice indeed. Smooth, good flow and a nice size. Nice addition to my 149 and 162 rollerball. Getting a collection started over here ;-).

I wish all of you MB-nuts a merry christmas and all the best for the new year. Enjoy your pens in good health, and may you all acquire lots of MB's!

Bought a Mont Blanc pen pouch the other day. Have the Meisterstuck Ballpoint and Fountain Pen. Looking for a nice Meisterstuck Pencil to round out my collection.

Not so much a purchase but just got my 232PL back from Max after the meister fixed it a treat- replaced the feed, replaced the piston, fixed the tines, sealed the leaking barrel and worked the inner barrel to make it round.

That is supreme work

  • 2 weeks later...

A 146 platinum finish, F nib, as a Christmas gift to mi wife (she already had a Le Grand rollerball and a Classique ball pen in the same finish). Gorgeous pen, and very good nib. Happy New Year to all FPNers.
