How about this for something different, a MB 172L pencil? : )

post-33231-095378500 1286750563.png

Isn't she pretty? : ) She has a beautiful scratch-free finish, a nice weight, a solid feel, a nice solid click to the lead mechanism, a perfect fit to her lead-cap, and she is a wonderful writer. But, she has one problem, her top black resin button wobbles -- the lead-cap fits nicely in place within the pencil but the resin top itself wobbles; I added the topic Loose Top Button on MB 172L Pencil if anyone can help.

Yesterday bought a creditcardholder in the Soft Leather Range.

Really nice when I want to travelling light.

It holds 6 cards and in the middle you can put some (money)bills.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just comming back from London where I got the brand new Solitaire Geometric Dimensions fountain pen (146 size) with a fine nib. The pens arrived in the London boutique ~1 week ago.

I haven't had time to take pictures of this pen but it really looks nice in real life; the images in the recent Meisterstück catalog just don't like good and a little bit over the top.

In real life it shows a heavily engraved, matte and glossy champagne gold body and cap with matching trim (even the nib is single champagne gold colored) which looks very elegant and feels surprisingly interesting.

And the best part about this pen is the real mother of pearl star! :cloud9:

I will put this pen into daily rotation during the next days.

Michael

PS: ...and I'm waiting for a POA Charlemagne to come back from nib exchange :glare:

Went to the Toronto Pen Show yesterday. Still trying to complete the wriers series. (Need the Dumas, Cervantes, Woolf and now Twain :bonk: ) Looked around and found a pretty nice Dumas which I was going to pull the trigger upon until....

Went to a table and found a collector who was selling a MINT un-inked Lorenzo Medici with complete boxes and papers. The packaging still even has the original cellophane covering. The seller also had the original platform on which the pen had been displayed in the store. This pen has been one of my grails which I had never thought I would have the opportunity to acquire. It was a bit of a stretch but I decided that these opportunities don't come up often. After a bit of dickering we struck a deal and I came home with a new prized possession(including the store display). :cloud9:

Cheers

I know a shop in the US that has NOS Writers' series. PM me if interested.

What else do we have in life if not to help each other?

Just waiting for a 146 in stainless steel to arrive from the USA. No doubt it will straight into the nib tuners when it gets here & no doubt I will say its the last pen I am buying

I got a bottle of Montblanc Oyster Grey ink a week ago from the USA off ebay.

Unfortunately while cleaning my 149 to take the new ink I stabbed the nib into the top of my desk. :crybaby: :crybaby:

My pen is at the repairers, I just hope I will get to appreciate the ink some day :bonk: :gaah:

I think the Oyster Grey has been available in the USA and elsewhere since January 2010, but none of the shops in Australia including the MB boutiques have yet to get this colour in stock. Australia is frustrating sometimes

Suppose you mean 1/18000

That's a really nice set. Some say that specific numbers don't have any more value, but if I want a set than I would value yours more expensive!

Nice number. Where did you get them from to get these numbers. I always assumed #1 would not be available to the general public.

eBay can be dangerous.........got a Mint/no box Medium nib Schiller! For $525 I felt like I got a real bargain. Now to search for the Thomas Mann in Fine. Bought the Mark Twain FP last month and just love it. Amazing how much "lighter" the Schiller feels in comparison to Twain, Shaw and Cervantes!

Not sure what's up with MB and their new inks.........even refills.com has disappeared - guess I'm lucky to have gotten Oyster Gray, Toffee Brown and the fun Irish Green in 2 bottles of each!
