Just picked these up before dinner this evening....:)

This is great; looks remarkably like the contents of today's UPS package from MB, with the exception of the orange; still in love with Edelstein Mandarin.

Just snagged a 234.5 with a meisterstuck clip and ski slope flat feed. It was really the clip I wanted but keen to find out how it is! It was advertised as an MB 585...

Looks cosmetically reasonable apart from the fact that there is an obscurely photographed (almost can't see) personalisation that wasn't mentioned in the Italian text and seller did not answer when asked. So, maybe more surpirses in store - hope not! Clip looks fine though.

August has been a great month! Today I received a 146 Solitaire Sterling Silver Pinstripe and a 146 Solitaire Sterling Silver Barley from Tom Westerich at Penboard.de. Both are NOS and in lovely condition. Last week I purchased a 146 Solitaire Gold Barley from a friend. I already have the Stainless Steel Solitaire. You will have gathered that i'm very keen on the Solitaire models!

Retail therapy in a recession...you're really just helping the economy get back on its feet. Sounds like the German market has done not bad out of you too! Nice big 146s the metal lot.

Hi Stephen,

I like your thinking! I admit that it was a bit extravagant, but I have been looking out for these pens for a while, and just couldn't resist. I really do like the metal 146's. I seem to recall that you recently got a beautiful Platinum 146. I think one of those is on my wishlist too, but not for a while!

Regards,

Robin.

I sold one of my platinums and a silver pinstripe on here just recently. Nice big 146s with plenty of heft and presence. Unfortunately I was hit with the vintage thing and in MB terms that can be dangerous - particularly the grey striated variety. Something has to give...

Maybe catch up sometime Robin. We must have plenty enough Scottish members here now to justify a days meet.

regards

Stephen

Picked up a 1980s solid gold 149. I really wanted one with a gold dome and I was able to find one. Been sitting in a lady's dresser door mostly unused for the last 25 years or so. Needless to say, I am completely and utterly smitten and the pen writes like a dream.

Will do. I'm trying to get my hands on a decent camera and I will post some photos when I get a chance. Although I don't expect to even come close to matching the amazing photography some of the FPN members have exhibited, I'll do my best.

Hi Stephen,

It would be great to catch up. I'm not sure of your location, but It shouldn't be too difficult to find a suitably accessible location to meet. I think some other Scottish members met in Edinburgh earlier this year, but I was unable to attend.

Regards,

Robin.

Another latest addition.. I thought I would never see the MST 149 Unicef 2004 Andree Putman's edition anymore. I love the big black lacquered wooden casing and in particular to the torpedo shape casing for the pen alone.. And the whole presentation will be great for the display in the cabinet.. :cloud9:

Now if I can get my hands to Helmut Jahn's edition (and there goes my other limb).. :gaah:
