Since I will start a new job in september I gave myself a little treat recently:

MB 161 LeGrand Platinum ballpoint, with a Meisterstuck leather one pen sleeve. No FP I know, but with quite a lot of air travel ahead in my new job, this is a more practical way to go...(still contemplating a 146 platinum though... ). With the broad refills this thing writes so smooth :cloud9: ! Lovely! Hope to enjoy it for a long time!

Congratulations on both your new job and the BP. I prefer platinum to gold with resin. The 146P is in my regular rotation and I just love it! :)

Thanks...I was happy being chosen for this job, it's a big challenge! So I thought I deserved a nice present ;-).

Platinum and resin just looks awesome to me...I haven't quite matured to gold yet.

Kai,

Very nice addition to your collection!!

That's is the longest "Long Ink Window" 136 I have seen. Almost could be designated as a demonstrator. Do you know if it came out of the factory this way as it does not appear to have any hint of the ink window stripes or done during restoration to deliberately expose the clear celluloid barrel?

Thanks Mark, I'm told it's a factory made demonstrator.

I'm still waiting to see it, very excited.

Just couldn't resist the Starwalker Black Mystery FP and it took my 2nd Graf Von Faber Castell converter perfectly just as its Platinum and Black sister did.

Two Starwalkers, both with converters :) Yum!

Oh my...what is it with this MB virus? I have been infected I guess. Thinking of getting a MB 149 from the 80's in mint condition with an F nib (two-tone).

What do you guys think, is that a pen you can show up at work with, or is it too 'flashy'? Or maybe I should not give a ... about that and just do what I think is nice, right?

The 149 has something that attracted me from day one... :cloud9:

The standard Meisterstucks be it the smaller ones or the 149 are the least flashy pens MB make. People take a lot more flashy looking pens to work. I actually think my 147 is very understated, would love a 149 one day and would definately take it to work.

???????????????????

As opposed to what? A little unique, moderately unique?

The word unique means there is only ONE!!! Nothing can be 'very' unique, 'a little unique' or any other qualifier :)

Sorry, this is one of my pet hates.

It is unique now because it shows Flickr's "photo not found" error. Thanks.

Best regards, Kai

I just bought the George Bernard Shaw Set, fountain pen with Medium nib. I put blue/black ink in. OOOOHHHH MMMYYY!!!! What an amazing writing experience, this one really writes well out the box.

I just love this set, I have been searching for a long time in South Africa and found the last new set world wide. Mont Blanc searched its entire network for me and couldn't get one. I walk into a jewelry shop in Johannesburg South Africa and there it was. I couldn't believe my luck. Got numbers 1252. I don't own a decent camera so don't have a photo attached sorry.

Yes, BR! I love its big dome which is almost as big as 149 and the big white splat on top of it.

Very nice - just picked up a grey striated pencil myself a couple of weeks back.

Enjoy
