Not sure if any of you are tekkies. I just purchased an iPad Pro and was playing around with the Montblanc app. I did not get the Apple Pencil but opted to go with the Montblanc M Screen Writer. I believe that Marc Newson, the designer of the pen, now designs for Apple, so it all fits together. Its a ton of fun and it saves paper as well. Here are a few pics of the pens and the large iPad.

Great "combo"! I will buy an IPad Pro soon. How do you like it? Did you also purchase the keyboard?

I love the Pro. Its huge. Awesome for use around the house but its not the lightest thing in the world. I did not get the keyboard for this reason. It will not be a laptop replacement for me, as it still runs iOS. If you don't use the unit for work and just want to type quickly it may be a good option though. I use it sitting on the couch or sitting in bed so the unit itself works well for me. The screenwriter is awesome. I have read the saying in this forum "its like writing on glass". This combo is truly like writing on glass.

Many thanks. Like you, I use my IPad Air sitting on the couch or in bed, and - as you - I will not use the Pro as a laptop replacement (for the same reason). Your comment is indeed very helpful.

What exactly is the benefit of using the MB pen with an iPad? Does it have some sort of technical functionality or is it more like all MB pens and more of a statement?

No technical advantage at all. The only real advantage is the experience of imputing your writing onto the iPad. It could be done with your finger as well. Many apps have a feature on the keyboard for you to jot hand written notes such as the notepad app. There are many apps like the montblanc app which are designed for you to draw. The stylus, whether MB or not, just gives a better and more precise experience for me.

Purchased this ball point online to match my roller ball.

Seller refuted to grant a refund due to the pen being in 'excellent unused condition' - the bent clip is not a concern nor do they believe it should have been mentioned in the add..

Thankfully I insisted on paying via paypal; claim has been processed and pen is on its way back to be returned and Ill receive the refund after all :)

I expect soon someone is going to post a photo of their Montblanc cologne.

Fred

Sorry not much of a cologne guy. If I change my mind I will be sure to post a picture. :)

Just received my Albert Einstein yesterday!

It is absolutely amazing! The only drawback I feel is that it's a very heavy pen.

Does anyone actually wear a POA or limited edition pen like this with a suit? Maybe it will take me some getting used to? I generally carry a 145 and sometimes a 146 in my shirt pocket with no issues. If I am carrying a ball point, I generally carry it hidden under my tie in the shirt buttons (they are usually smaller). This pen is a lot heavier. I am wondering if anyone everyday carries a pen like this? I have been bringing my JFK special edition to the office. I feel like that is still a pretty big pen but I am getting used to it however the Einstein in much heavier.

I guess we shall find out!

I carry my Writers Edition pens in my shirt pocket without any trouble. I'm not sure how much heavier the Einstein is in comparison, tho'.

Enjoy your pens. They are quite beautiful.

I laughed at this one but only because that's me! I don't have any pictures of them but I have absolutely loved every single cologne that Montblanc has created (or had created by perfumers). I have gone through five or more bottles of their most recent scents, Legend & Emblem. Legend has been a HUGE hit with people and has multiple versions plus accessories.

I don't go by Mr. Montblanc for nothing haha :P

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Congratulations! That sounds like a nice Christmas present to me, but I already bought mine for this year :) I have been watching those Heritage rollerballs, wondering what they would feel like or write like. How do you like them? If I actually bought one, I don't know how to pick whether to get the resin or metal one.

Just ordered a Platinum 146, medium nib...

Only question is: which ink to use when it arrives? I have at hand black (Pelikan 4001, Iroshizuku Take-Sumi and Noodler's Borealis), blue-black (Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo), blue/turquoise (Iroshizuku Kon-peki)... Or J. Herbin stormy grey... Or emerald... Too many questions!!!

I wouldn't recommend using one of the J. Herbin glitter inks on a pen like the 146, where you can't remove the feed for cleaning.

Kon-peki complements the platinum trim very nicely imo

Thank you for the reminder!

This is a pen that I wanted for so long that I cannot wait any more! And looking for the perfect combination - paper (Midori & Rhodia), pen (here it comes) and ink (????)

I have had my eye on this style for years but for some reason never picked one up. I purchased a StarWalker Midnight Metal BP. I love the weight of the metal SW models and have always found the resin version too light for my taste. Perhaps the heft also gives it the distinguished and upmarket feel that I enjoy with MBs. Really love the matte black and feel of this pen. Fits well with my daily rotation of FPs. Always carry 2 pens. 1 fountain pen and either a rollerball or ballpoint for times when Fountains won't work. Love this pen. Might end up selling my SW Cool Blue bp and my SW Red Gold Metal bp.

Congrats on your new edition to the family!

I was also overwhelmed by the weight of the AE, majority of it is in the cap.

Went and got myself a single MB Florence case for travel duties :)

I have two SW BP (Midnight Black and Mystery Black), and might buy the Metal version. Like you, I am having my eye on this since a long time... Was it hard to find? I was told that the pen has been discontinued.
