I was the first person to bid on this. I placed the bid thinking, it will be fun to see how long I'm the highest bidder, because it might go until the last minute, when all the watchers finally take their stab at it. No one else bid. :yikes:

I just got the Boheme pirouette fountain pen from the new Montblanc Outlet at Bicester village with huge discount!

Result!

Did they have much else in the way of pens in the shop?

Looks good!

I am going with 144 too. Prices on the vintage piston fillers have been on the up lately so sounds like you got a good deal :)

Greetings, I don't often have an opportunity to post to this thread, but today I do :D

Yesterday I bumped into this desk set, I don't know what 149's go for but it sounded OK so I did it.

So I finally have a 149.

As far as I can tell it is a 1985-90, Medium nib. Used but in OK condition.

And it writes great, nice and wet. and I'm warming up to the size.

Congrats! Nice set indeed. But the nib looks more like an extra fine to fine to me.

Congrats. I think the desk holder can be a useful accessory.

Looks like an EF to me, based on my previous 149s of the same vintage.

Congratulations on becoming a mid-level Wall street fact cat circa 1985! :P

Yes they had quite a few different Boheme styles and other pens that were either precious metal or had diamonds so very expensive

Thanks, I have almost no experience with MB nibs.

I got one of the most delicate POA Semiramis finally.

Beauty! Any chance you post some close-up pictures of your lovely new pen?

Also, is that Patek beside it? :puddle:

Sorry for the poor quality iPhone photo. And yes, it is a Patek. Both are timeless arts of size ,design and craftsmanship.

Seems like a calatrava 15,000$ and up would be my guess, around 20 new.

I bought the Patek 5196J just a few days before the Semiramis. The watch is new and the pen is used.

Well the second 144 is finally here, an OBB from the 50's celluloid with telescopic piston, just noticed the extra b in the OBB sample. but you get the idea ;)

Quite a different shape to the nib, and a bigger difference one would expect from OBB to OBBB

I'm going to have to try clown tears on the OBB. and the 142 F nib has enough line variation to match the OBBB, easier to not mess up with the OBBB than flexing the 142 though.
