What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase?

Could not resist a MB Charles Dickens today. It is from the same ebay seller that I bought my MB Dumas from last week. Judging on previous experience the item will be of good quality and should be delivered within the next few days. Only four more to go + this years new edition.

Not sure what to expect from this pen. I think it will be a love it or hate it pen. It doesn't get a lot of love on this forum. Personally though I disliked the Woolf until I bought it and then started to use it.

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

I just purchased a Greta Garbo SE FP and a 149 this past weekend at my local MB boutique. The Greta (last one in stock) is for my GF, she loves it. As for the 149, I am totally happy with it. The wallet isn't too happy though.

Wow, NICE organizer! I like the zipper to keep things together. It's also big enough to transport letters. It looks like it would also serve well as a travel case for passport tickets, and stubs.

My boutique personnel are also "bad" that way. :D

Well to make it up to me they also thrown in 100 sheets of blank page refill, 100 sheets of graph refill, and the starter kit, which have a plastic ruler, A-Z separation divider and whole bunch of other dividers to make me feel better. :roflmho:

The size is perfect to use for meetings and conference and the zipper is the icing on the cake. If it wasn't for the zipper i properly will not get it. I have a coach conference folder and paper keeps falling out of it so this was kind of replacement of it. The inner zipper compartment is also good for keeping documents such as passport etc...

Did they throw in the JP Morgan as well? :roflmho:

Now that would be a nice touch.

:roflmho: :roflmho: :roflmho:

I wish they could... three years ago I called MB and tried to have them locate Morgan for me too bad it was all sold out.

I think the Dickens is nice. I saw it in Joon two years back too bad they only have the set on sale if they had only the FP I would have gotten it.

Congrad on your purchase!

Just did another MB purchase after I sold the Chopin FP and the Meisterstueck pencil....

Couldn't resist to order a new LeGrand ballpoint pen in platinum trim...I don't use a FP at work that much so I decided to go for the BP instead. So again, there will be some MB in my daily life

It's on its way now, will post pics of the unboxing as I receive it.

1950s 144.

Unsure of nib size, not stamped on the turning knob. But not an oblique!

Bought to replace my 144 OBB, which I found I couldn't use without destroying the nib.

I picked up a Boheme Noir at the Friends & Family Sale at my local boutique today. I have a fixed nib Boheme, but I was still intrigued by the retractable. It's a sweet little pen with a juicy broad nib filled with a Racing Green cart. It's my first MB with platinum trim, since all my others are yellow gold (149, 146 x2, Woolf, fixed Boheme Rouge). I love the all black resin and white metal look - very sharp.

Good luck with it!

Yes, I have been a MB rollerball collector and didn't even realize how small the MB Noir is. I love it, purchased at Bromfield's in Boston - very nice people! I'm using Pelikan Turquoise and MB Brown carts, the same colors I'll be buying when the new MB Rollerball refill colors hit the US.

I just bought a Classic from Ebay and I'm really excited about it!

I won the auction thinking it was a black and GT Generation but was pleasantly surprised. The seller described it as a Generation but when I looked closer at the photos that he provided I realized it was in fact a Classic from the 1980s which is an easy mistake to make if you are not familiar with the pens because they are so similar :happyberet:.

My wife just purchased a Thomas Mann WE for my 50th birhtday. The local MB botique located one for me and it arrived yesterday. The pen has a B nib which is okay, but I'm getting the store to exchange the nib for an OBB. The salesperson said the trek to Germany and back will take about 12 weeks. I'm hoping it will arive sooner.

:puddle:

Regards,

Mike

Just received an early birthday present for myself - a Montblanc 30 push knob filler (1930s) in coral red in excellent condition. It's about the size of a 146, but with a little more girth - very comfortable to write with. (See comparison photo - 149 on top, 30 in middle, 146R on bottom.) It has a lovely wet flexy EF nib. I am in love...

Last saturday I bought a Montblanc 146 with solid gold nib from the 70's or 80's at the Nuremberg pen show. The ebonite feed provides a much better flow than the plastic ones in the modern MB's....

Mark Twain with a Medium nib. I had to call a million different places to find one in stock. :bunny01:

Now if I could just find a Thomas Mann!

Wish List:

Thomas Mann

Christie

Proust

Hemingway

(I know, its going to be hard doing this on a budget!)

I bought a Thomas Mann at my local MB Boutique on May 3. I called up a few days before and told them what I was looking for (wanted to buy two other MB for gifts). The salesperson looked in the computer while I was on the phone and told me there were only three Mann FP left in the US; all broad nibs. She had one shipped to the store and I went in a day later to look it over and had it sent off for a nib change. Looks like OC Mike got another of the B nibs. Might be worth a call to a boutique. Mine in White Plains, NY was very helpful.

Well done

I have the Hemi and it is a worthy pen to be on any wishlist.

Just received goodguy's Proust last week- that is a beautiful looking pen and a wonderful writer.

First WE pen nib that has some serious spring to it.

Just a joy :cloud9:
