149 for my son's upcoming 21st birthday and three bottles of 'permanent grey' ink for myself.

That is a great present for a 21st birthday!

Late to bed, late to rise

No disadvantage that I can surmise

Currently awaiting on this pair to arrive. Both are cartridge pens, and I may end up farming the barrel snowflake. Also, one has a small Bayer emblem emblazoned on the cap - a pretty nice promotional item!

Bought a 149 90'th with an OBBB nib (waiting for it to come back from the nib swap) and planning to get the Blue Hour Legrand hopefully soon.

Regards,

That is a great present for a 21st birthday!

Thanks. It is difficult these days to know what to get but he likes the fountain pen his sister chose for his 18th and has used that continuously since then. His only issue is that the cartridges never last long enough.

Either you got the 'nine years' wrong or the '1912 Heritage' wrong. The pen was only out since 2013 if I remember correctly.

Oops - apologies...! I meant the 100 year Anniversary Fountainpen. I have also picked up the Heritage 1912....... Enchanted by both, hence the confusion! By the way - both in Medium, although I wanted Fine. But for some reason was told by the boutique that both pens only come in Medium........ Not sure about this!!

BTW, I'm trying to post images, but not succeeding..... Will figure it out and post shortly.

Maybe the boutique only had them both in medium, but there are other nibs out there for them. I exchanged the fine nib in my 1912 for an oblique double broad. Pen had to go back to Germany, but was back in about 5 weeks. Totally worth it.

Good to know - But irrespective, the Medium nibs are superb. The 1912 has a totally different feel, due to the weight of the pen. Smooth as silk…..

Not that the Anniversary is any less in writing experience. Just much lighter, and when un-posted, very small. I have found that posting the Anniversary enhances the smoothness….

Now to figure out why my images are not uploading……..!

My 1912 is a F nib and writes exceptionally beautifully! Initially I thought my Lamy 2000 has the smoothest nib...that is until I tried the Heritage 1912.

I'm led to believe that this is from circa 1936 but I don't have the relevant Montblanc Reference books to corroborate this.

The leather case has the Montblanc name and logo imprinted on it and the tank has Stofhaas imprinted on the side.

It's very small = 6 cm across, 5 cm high and 2.5 cm deep.

The aperture where the pen is inserted into the tank is approximately 1 cm across so I doubt it will easily allow for a 139 / 149 to be filled from it.

I'm guessing the person who sold it has the collectors guide since that's exactly what it says, ca. 1936
