This is my most recent MB purchase (which found the way to my home, that is, others are on their way....)

It is a Le Grand Burgundy Red with an OB or even OBB nib.

Bordeax always looks nice in any occasion.

Just got my grail pen yesterday off the classifieds, well kind of, the pinstripe solitaire is/was the grail pen but not specifically the wedding version one, so i leave you with a gorgeous 146 Solitaire wedding edition (no idea on it's official name), it's a nice fine nib and also a tad longer than the Doué, it looks great, writes great as well :)

Niiiice! My 146 sterling pinstripe is my grail too. Looks gorgeous and feels gorgeous in the hand.

The wedding version with the wedding band looks pretty interesting.

Sorry for the smartphone pics, but as nice as this pen looks, it's performance is what really shines (yes, more than the emblem at the top).

The best writer I've ever used. Wonderful springy nib, perfect lines from the second you point it on the paper.

The retractable nib, ingenious piston filler and the stunning but understated look are just an added bonus.

Here is my most recent one. I used to have a gold plated solitaire in the barley pattern which was sterling underneath but I'm not sure this one was pricey enough to be sterling. Does anyone know what material this pen is made of?

Sorry for the upside down picture in posting from my iPhone.

Allthough i don´t go much for modern pens, i found this nice MB 149 with a BB nib, i still prefer the BB nib on my early sixties 149, but this newer MB pen has some more weight to it which i like.

No problem. I just had to turn my 30 inch monitor upside down. From the MB website:

The Meisterstück Solitaire Platinum-Plated Facet was born of the desire to unite Montblanc’s classic design with unique materials. This writing instrument, with its bold rectangular facets and platinum plating, finished with a handcrafted gold nib, appeals to one’s individuality.

I have the roller ball with the same finish. It is very sturdy. It appeals to my individuality.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

The info on that website doesn't say what the pen is made of though. Is it brass with a platinum plating or is it sterling silver?

Does it have any hallmarks? If it's sterling silver it's going to be marked afaik, I believe it's stainless steel plated with platinum.

I see your point. My guess is that it is not silver. I agree with you that the price is too low, and also I'm sure they would have said silver if it had any. I didn't see any hallmarks on my rollerball. My pinstripe says "925 Ag"

It is stainless steel, plated with platinum :) I sold one of these just a few weeks ago. Quite a shocking look to it! Congratulations on the acquisition!

A gold plated (brass) barleycorn 146 on the right to join the other two solitaires 😀 (both BB but one writes more like a BBB). New one writes like a dream (B Nib). Love the weight and feel of these 146's.

Nice! enjoy! I really want a BB nib, I think i'll wait for the tolstoy.

How do you keep the fingerprints off the shiny one ?

Wear gloves? :lticaptd: , seriously though I have a regular microfiber cloth I pass over mine when i put it away, since it's sterling silver it will oxidize to an extent and at least the Doué i have has some of the ridges in the fingerprints of someone etched, i probably could polish it until it's completely shiny but it doesn't bother me enough to try.

I can't really. I give it a polish every so often with a microfibre cloth, which works well. But as soon as I start using it the marks are there instantly. Doesn't really bother me to be honest though. That platinum plated solitaire you have is very nice. I suspect that will have the same tendency to fingerprint?

Just a quick question. When using my Heritage 1912 like any other day in the office, I notice the nib was misaligned with the feed, like the whole nib was slanted sideways, I managed to 'push' it back into place but I've never dropped it of subjected the nib to any harder force. It's writes normally but it is some known issues for FP nibs and feeds to be misaligned?

Yes, fingerprints definitely show...being a Platinum plate maybe it will be less maintenance than a solid sterling pen.

Bought a new ballpoint pen... Not sure if I should use it or not.

Congratulations! That is a beautiful pen and has always been one of my favorites. I am actually carrying the exact same pen with me right now so I would absolutely use the pen. I love it even more because it keeps its elegance and does not show fingerprints with use on the metal top/cap.

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!
