What fantastic finds Farmdogfan. Congratulations.

Judging from the 'before' and 'after' photos, you've really done a super job.

Love that K2. Looks to be the same size as a MB 332. What a fabulous little pen though. Real character!

I am really starting to fall for the Danish coral red.

thank you very much Pavoni.

They did´nt really need much done, cleaning and new sacs.

I don´t know the size of a 332, but this one is 10,5 cm long(capped).

Regards Per.

Not exactly pens, but got some ink and notebooks as well as the nib cleaner just to see what it all about.

No clue when the local boutique will get the blue hour ink so decided to order a couple of color i didn't have and notebooks from appelboom and after taxes cheaper than local too, have to wait a week though.

From functional art to just functional, Montblanc is an amazing company. I just finished restoring this 042G,

Victim of the fountains pens worse nemesis, superglue!

As meek as this little pen might be, it is such a pleasing pen to write with, The OB nib is springy and responsive, and lays down a great line. Just a student model, at 65 years old, but still a testimony to quality craftsmanship.

A brand spanking new Montblanc - Meisterstück 90 Years LeGrand with a fine nib. :D :D I love it.

I wonder what ink JFK used to sign that letter. The pen looks quite a bit more attractive in these photos than in the advertising material.

I can see where MB got their inspiration for their JFK ink.

I received this pen last week from FPN member Christof: a very nice MB342 with a medium-broad steel nib that is absolutely fabulous.

I keep reading and hearing about people finding good-to-great deals at antique shops etc., but that just never happens to me :-(

The more you look, the higher your odds of finding, just keep looking,

I walked into a pawn shop , asked if they had any pens,

The guy pulls out a Sailor King Of Pens professional Gear and a Sailor Realo.

He starts quoting prices he got from eBay. and finally says he wants $500 bucks for both,

5 minutes latter I am walking out with both for $200

Always have cash on hand.

Lovely pens

Had no idea people pawned fountain pens but now you've got me thinking. :)

Congrats on a great find!

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

I never thought about trying pawn shops; we have a few here in Las Vegas—you may have heard. I won't be going to the "World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop", home of the TV show Pawn Stars. They usually have a line around the block. It's supposed to be 111°F today. That's about 44°C for you metric folks.

Thanks for the idea.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

A new silver solitaire to go with my black and gold. Really like the weight and feel of these metal pens, and the 146 is just the right size. Now waiting on a another gold (barleycorn) 146 from max with a B nib.

Now I am trying to think how much money whoever pawned those pens got. Maybe $100 for the pair?

I doubt that it was that much. For unusual items, it may be 5 or 10 cents on the dollar. The pawn broker has to take into account that she or he may never sell them and that he will have to store them. You can do much better pawning firearms; one can always sell those.
