Just picked up this 1920s safety, which , unless I'm very much mistaken, is the Simplo. The barrel imprint for 'original ... the MB Logo ... Montblanc ... is clear, but the letters which I assume would read Simplo are rubbed.

I've taken photos comparing it with the Montblanc/Mars Staedtler that I picked up a few months back, and I was surprised that it is considerably longer.

When I first tried it I ended up with blobs of ink all over the paper, but it seems to have settled down nw, and the nib (clear imprint 2EF) certainly has a lovely flex :)

i always wanted a Montblanc in Sterling, so here is my new MB 146 Sterling Silver Pinstripe.

I was catching up on this topic this morning, saw this pen, and thought how beautiful it was. Then I went to the local MB store to pick up some MB pink they were holding for me. After showing off my recent pen purchases, they do like to see other manufacturers' pens, I told them that I was sorry when I heard they no longer had "private sales". They said that "private sales" are back, for now, and one was going on now. They had one of these pens with a broad nib for a tremendous price. So now you know what my most recent MB purchase is.

Nice! The private sale at the KOP montblanc ended yesterday, but glad to see that some locations are still ongoing and that you were able to pick up a great deal. :)

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

:thumbup: Congrats. I just love my sterling solitaire. The whiteness of the silver looks gorgeous on the pen. Glad I dropped by the boutique when I did too.

I always 'sneaked' my MBs home :( and took photos on them when my wife was not at home !!! To her knowledge, I only got 3-4 MBs but in fact ....... :P :P :P

I'm fortunate the wife finds the office 'boring' = my place to stash my treasures :)

 

You'll need that backpack when she finds out how much you spent.

Already warned the boutique 'just incase' ;)

The Iris Green, they are perfectly matched !!! The pink will be for the Tribute or Pompadour :) :)
