More pictures of nib - sad it doesn't match my writing style actually as it looks lovely, but I'm guessing it's a OB nib?

Oh gawd! I'm in lust!

i just sent my newly acquired Mark Twain off for a nib exchange.

It's a wonderful pen.

I will tell you all about it when it returns.

Thanks for the admiring comments on my nib (sounds a bit rude actually)

Being very new to these pens, my concern was that the nib seemed to be all 'gold' rather than the two colour one in my other 146, but I'm guessing it is not a run of the mill nib. It is a nice writer and seems to have much more of a 'bounce' to it as well.

AGxM,

I think you have a 146 with at least an OB nib. Your nib is authentic, 1970s and 80s nibs were mono-color, but the feed on your nib 'might' be indicate your pen was refurbished at some point. That particular feed should be associated with a bi-color nib.

And I prefer those mono-color nibs because of the spring or bounce you mention.

My latest MBs are an early 644 and a celluloid 146 set with the 172 pencil. Both have beautiful flexy nibs. I was quite surprised to find that the 644 is longer than the 146, both capped and uncapped.

Yummy nib!

Perhaps. It's a chop job, and with a dubious feed.

Some of you may recall the story I told on this forum about my first Montblanc, a 149 I bought in downtown Memphis in 1967 for $75. I made the acquaintance on eBay of the son of the man who sold me that pen. He recently had on offer a 149 with a stub (really a broad) 14k nib and step-down ebonite feed, so I bought it to go along with my original one, which still is in excellent condition. The pen arrived this week, and the nib is beautiful. It's somewhat of a gusher, so I'll probably have a nibmeister adjust the flow a bit and add a little more line variation, but I'm delighted to have another 149 that came from the same shop as my first one.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

My wife and I recently acquired a lovely burgundy 342-G and a pre-1990 146. The 146 needs a trip to MB for a bit of repair.

A danish MB 216. It´s slightly longer than the 206 (which is the earlier version), but also a little thinner, the clips, sections and feeds are also different.

It´s a little bigger than a celluloid Mb 146.

I just love those Danish MB 216s. I will be on the lookout for one or two or . . . .

Hi,

Not a fountain pen, and not completely original.

Its a Boheme pencil (road kill model). Yup, the poor thing got hit by a truck or something.

parts were missing, cracked and bent.

I made a new titanium section and blind cap. Straighten adjusted and polished.

Yes, she lost her snowflake, (de-flaked) but she'll lives to mark another day

It's the Ti-Bo (onyx)

Montblancs are incredibly well made, any other pen would be floating through the fields of Valhalla.

I spent the time to fix it in acknowledgment of that tradition of craftsmanship.

The rose gold is outstanding!

It was welcomed by some of my other Meisterstück pens
