Now I feel I only need to find a Bordeaux to consider my own collection complete.

And here we are. I am satiated. Ya there are the anniversary models out there, but I don't feel too strong about getting them...yet.

I had not bought any MB in a while, but today I picked up a 2007 Toscanini donation pen from the boutique in SF. (Their last.) I really liked the clip and the wide cap band, plus the overall 136 like look to the profile.

No pics yet as it is already off for a nib swap to BB. :)

It had been awhile since I bought any Montblanc items but when I saw an Alexander Dumas père for sale at Bertram's Inkwell with box and presentation case for only $550.00 I figured it was once again time. The Dumas is one of the few MB special edition pens that has caught my fancy so I figured it was worth a flyer.

There was a small tear one one flap of the outer box but nothing serious.

The display case was near perfect.

and the pen itself all that I could hope for.

I don't have any pictures yet, but just a few days ago I picked up a Mb Generation fountain/ballpoint pen set in turquoise. It's my very first Mb.

A nice stainless steel 144...

I agree, was my first boutique purchase. Mine was the 146. I like the heaviness of it.

Just plucked a 50s MB744 with F nib off eBay. Gotta like those solid gold FPs, even if they have F nibs.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

Was lucky enough to find a Dumas at a ridiculously low price from a reputable dealer.

A 146G...

Now that is a beautiful pen. Did you take a bite out of the cap, though?

I didn't do that. The previous owner(s) probably chipped it on a hard surface.

Well, it doesn't affect function, so it just adds character. I've been looking for one of these for some time; they are beautiful pens!

I hear ya~ That's why I didn't mind the chip, and bought it anyway.

OK, love the green striated 146, and a great vintage too, about as old as I am !

What nib did it come with, Can we take a peek under the hood? more pictures maybe?

Thanks

Managed to get hold of a Dickens ballpen to accompany the fp on its travels and to use when a fp wont work or when someone needs to scribe something and they dont have a pen.

They seem to be getting on well :)

I got another danish 246 (piston filler) yesterday, in very good shape and with clear imprint, it just needed a cork to work again.

I have got a few of these, so they must have been rather popular in their day (1941-1954).
