A 90th anniversary 149 with a broad nib bought yesterday.

I bought the same pen on Sunday at the local MB Store. They told me at the store that it was the last broad nib they had and among the few 90th Anniversary pens left.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Probably one of the most beautiful pens I have owned! My new Great Characters Einstein rollerball :) pictures just don't do this thing justice! Hopefully I can get a Da Vinci for a good price soon as well! The sheer weight of this pen is astounding, and the intricacies in the laser engravings and design details only make it that much more special.

Stopped by the MB boutique to check out the new Pavarotti POA. The result was negative for my wallet but very positive for the collection...

Thanks guys. A review by me would be useless. I have no idea whatsoever about different kinds of nibs. I could give some input on the looks and feels of the pen. Will ink it until Monday.

Cheers

I bought a pre-owned Meisterstuck 149 off eBay. Sent it in for service at the MB center. They replaced the barrel, feeder, looks like they polished the nib and clip for one flat fee. Looks brand new!

Received two 146s in the post this week, an early 80's with monotone rose gold nib in Bold, and a modern dual tone BB. These are my first 146s and as I could not decide what to go for I bought both with the intention of selling one in due course.

Initial reaction is that the 80s writes much nicer with a wet line. But, this may be because the modern one needs a flush, strip and clean. I like the BB nib, it might even be OBB, need to have a proper look at it as it is not quite symmetrical.

For now, very happy with both for different reasons and still unsure which to keep. Can't really afford both... whichever I keep will be a daily writer though from what I gather all 146s of any vintage are up to this.

Also photographed (apologies for dodgy iPhone pic) my StarWalker which was my first MB. That's a lifelong keeper though it is getting used less and less since discovering Noodler's Ink Konrad and getting these 146s!

You have a nice collection there. I would have trouble deciding which one to keep; I would end up keeping both. Fountain pens—especially older ones—tend to have a "personality". If one likes a particular 146 and then sells it, a replacement pen will probably not be exactly the same.

Was lucky enough to find a Dumas at a ridiculously low price from a reputable dealer.

Thats a great pen and a great find. Dumas prices seem to be climbing a little, as I am on the look out too.

My boutique called me a few days ago to tell me the "private" sale was on. I asked them what they had and the results are below. I bought a Black Mystery 6CC wallet and a Boheme BP. The wallet is large, has room for 6 credit cards plus an insert for 2 more cards. It also has a section with 2 viewing windows. The quality of the leather work is absolutely superb. Best of all it was 50% off the retail price. The Boheme was a bit of an afterthought. The boutique sent me a list of some sale items and the Boheme was 60% off of the retail. I could not resist. Here are a few pictures.

By the way, I told that this will be the last "private" sale. Apparently Montblanc will be opening an outlet store in New York state.

Thanks for the update orfew! i have been harassing them about the sale and they did not have a date. Seems a little late this year. I know where I will be going this afternoon... :ninja:
