Just received my POA Francois I from MaxPens at Penboard.de yesterday. This has been a grail pen for me. Enjoy the pictures.

After months of searching (and years of dreaming about it only to land on a leaking dud), I finally got my grail pen thanks to :notworthy1: Rick Propas -- a NOS Proust with a medium (surprisingly springy!) nib :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

One nib shot inked with my favorite ink (Sailor Kingdom Note Tanna Japonensis) for fellow nib porn lovers :P

And after all that time searching and dreaming, you can finally make up for that "lost time"...

Proust is by far my favorite writer and this pen is so beautiful that it takes my breath away, so I have to say I'm *very* jealous. And very happy for you!

I really like the hourglass design on this nib. Congrats on getting your dream/grail pen.

MontBlanc Chopin Fountain Pen!

I am hoping you will be pleased to hear that I dont think this a Chopin but rather the Brahms fountain pen. I am basing this on the packaging and the shape of the pen (flat top not cigar) and the tuning fork shaped clip, amongst other details.

Nice pen :)

IMHO, the Proust is the best-looking Montblanc special/limited edition pen. I bought mine used without box or papers (priced accordingly), and I was lucky to get a factory F that behaves so well that I have no desire to have it altered by a nibmeister. That's unusual for me.

It's a Brahms, for sure.

I'm in love with one that I've saw at the boutique. But I've choosed the regular 149...

Zaddick, thank you. I had been searching for this pen for quite some time. The pattern of the tiger eye on the barrel is one of the best that I have seen.

I will try to post a pen review soon.

If that had been B or larger, I'd be experiencing palpitations.

haha I had major palpitations for sure! I never imagined I would actually get it so the excitement/anxiety just from taking the package up to my apt from the lobby got my heart rate up to the point of needing to sit down before taking it out of the box for fear of dropping it :P

PS I never understood the beauty of the MB B nib until this weekend. I had previously only tried the 1912 B nib at the boutique (which was too broad and difficult for me to write with), but I gave the 146 B nib tester a try on Sunday and it was a dream to use even with my smaller handwriting! The only problem is that of course I think I need one now....

Thank you!! I hope it will help me rediscover that "lost time" too :) He is one of my favorite authors as well (although I mainly work on 17th c and 19th c French lit, so technically I'm cheating on them with M. Proust... haha)

I think it is one of the most special too :cloud9: Unfortunately the deals on these are getting harder to find and it seems like they've been escalating over the last couple of months! Voltaire said it best: "C’est la fantaisie des hommes qui met le prix à ces choses frivoles..." haha

Finally scored a B nib on a late 1960s/early 1970s 149.

Yes yes....perhaps more special and limited editions would be nice. I'll just continue with my Heritage 1912 at work today.

My early 1950s, all celluloid 138 finally arrived from Germany. the pen is near mint with a flexy #6 14C OM nib (like you would find on the early 146 pens). the only issue is that the ink window is pretty stained and you need to hold it to the light to seek an ink level. I'm looking forward to playing with it once I soak it with water a little more to clean out residual ink.

Pictures include a comparison to a modern 146 for a size comparison. Sadly i do not have a 139 handy, but this pen should be longer and, of course, thinner.

Thanks for looking. I have another special vintage pen coming next week.
