Hi SE1980,

I recently bought a Heritage 1912 too and that is a super sweet case you bought. Was that from a downtown boutique? Any special offer?

How does the pen fit? I was thinking of the 3 pen case to fit my others in there too...did they have the Westside in 3 pen size at that length?

Bought it from a downtown Mont Blanc boutique for SGD$200 or 95 GBP and no offers. Fitting is good and its shorter length compliments the Heritage 1912 being a bit shorter than the Meisterstück. I just leave the top of the pen exposed so it's easier to take out. Not sure about any 3-pen version as I specifically asked for the 1-pen one.

Lamy 2000 FP, PP, BP, MFP & RB. Mont Blanc Meisterstück 161 Le Grand Platinum BP & Heritage 1912 FP.

Wednesday saw the aquisition of a 1970s 149 with 18C nib, maybe medium or broad.

Thursday saw the aquisition of what I think is an early 1960s 149 with a 14C nib and maybe M width.

No pictures yet as pens are in the post. Hopefully one has a good nib and there are no surprises.

Finally bought a proper 'home' for my Heritage 1912, the 4810 Westside. It's a bit shorter than the Siena but a bit more expensive too.

Seems like the new pen pouches are made in Germany as compared to Italy before.

gambled on ebay, totally worth it!

Couldn't upload them because of the 1.95 MB limit.

Here is the dropbox link:

It was told to be unused, it is not totally unused but it is in excellent condition. Comes with a box, the ink window is covered up by the thread.

Mont Blanc No.31, no scratches or cracks at all, made me pretty happy.

Unfortunately i couldn't see the nib size. If any of you are able to tell which size it is by the shape of it, would have made me feel glad.

I was wondering if these vintage models are able to be dismantled without any special tool. If it is, i might be thinking about replacing the nib, too fine for me.

As this is my first MB Fountain pen, made me feel pretty great. I didn't have any idea about the average prices, but bought it for 85 euros (∼95 USD), which is a bit more overpriced i think. I didn't care about it after the second i started to write.

Just taken a quick one.

Thanks Mike. Looks good. Certainly better than the one I bought last year. Where did you find it?

Very nice 1950's MB 149. Thanks for sharing. What type of feed does it have? More pics please.

Solid ebonite so would think this was replaced in the seventies.

Ebay.co.uk paid the equivalent of $742 so quite happy. Only dip tested so far as trying to clean it up but rights really well. Om nib which is the same as I have on a sixties but with slight more flex(softness) both are marked 14C.

Very nice pen! You are correct that they are no longer made without stones. I never even knew they made a gold clip version without stone so that must be even more rare. I've only seen Platinum trim models without the stone.

Thank you! I have searched ebay quite a bit and only found a few examples such as this. The only real flaw I can see is some tarnishing on the nib collar, which I believe to be brass. After using a few cartridges with it I've decided to part with this one though, it just doesn't fit my hand the way my 146's do.

Wow, that is a fantastic deal on a celluloid 149. You can probably source a vintage feed if you really want, but if it writes just keep it as is.

Congratulations. There definitely are deals out there, just not usually for me. ;)

After months of searching (and years of dreaming about it only to land on a leaking dud), I finally got my grail pen thanks to :notworthy1: Rick Propas -- a NOS Proust with a medium (surprisingly springy!) nib :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

One nib shot inked with my favorite ink (Sailor Kingdom Note Tanna Japonensis) for fellow nib porn lovers :P
