Found this on eBay, turned out the seller lived in the same city as me, so we met up and made the exchange. Drew some attention as I counted out the cash in notes on the street corner we met up on!

Going to be my regular use work pen, my StarWalker FP remains my special occasion pen, but I'm seriously considering a JFK too as not only love the design, but also can relate to JFK as a figure.

Back to my RB, what's the best way to clean a few year's grime off the threads? Being using a toothbrush which worked well on the metal parts but it's not having the same effect on the resin.

I have one of these - a good steady pen. Enjoy

Not sure of the best way to clean it but be careful...

I know a member on here offers a polish, maybe give that a look?

146 BB

Lovely. I have the BB on a 144 (my favourite nib ever) and a 149 (a little to broad for my liking).

Ps would love to see a writing sample if you get the chance.

When I looked around boutique, pricing & design wise, Great Characters draw my attention. Started my collection with this. A bit of fun hunting older ones. Each pen bought from different country recently.

Recently purchased a 1980's Legrande fountain pen in mint condition for $280. Very happy with the purchase.

I can't agree more. In fact, the time warp has a special meaning for those who like sci-fi movies or stories. The barrel looks nice with formulas there, but cap is #1 factor.

Yes, it has been restored from silver usual tarnish issue. A simple yet beautiful pen, the least sophisticated from others yet a keeper.

This is the one that started all. Hope you'll get one soon.

Very nice, I have the Leonardo as well, it's my favorite pen. That JFK is much nicer then the new one they just came out with.

A little 124 G with a few issues:

  • cap lip is missing pieces (but no cracks); needs to be replaced one day
  • star is missing in cap-top
  • few tooth (or plier ???) marks on filling knob

A fresh sac is already installed but pen needs still a little bit of surface polish. The imprints in cap and filling knob as well as cap-top are worn but still readable :-)
