Excellent purchase. I support Unicef cause and this collaboration just toward the right direction. I purchased the mechanical pencil which is from 2009 Gold trim as MB didn't MP for 2013.

Good purchase for a good cause

Just picked up this Heritage 1912 at the MB Boutique in Mexico City. And tomorrow my Leonardo, Sforza and Defoe will be given back to me from a 3 month wait for nib exchange. Will post photos as soon as they are home and safe.

Cheers everyone

The 1912 is a great looking pen.

I bet it will be great getting the nib exchanges back from MB. 😊

I have about a 3 month wait on my WE Dumas nib exchange.

Would anyone consider a mozart to bring along during weekend or non working days? Or stick with existing pens or not carrying any pens and use anything available?

I saw mozart which is appealing to its size but can easily lost too in the pocket

I carry my MB pens all the time. Regardless of the circumstances I always keep them in either a pen pouch or case to keep them safe.

Finally a (not so good) picture of my first new old pen for 2015: Montblanc Meisterstück 35 Safety which was the second largest Meisterstück at that time (c. 1924).

Nib is a K EF nib and cap has the STÖFFHAAS - HAMBURG BERLIN LEIPZIG imprint.

I'm looking forward on adding a snake clip to this pen one day; just did not decide on gold vs. silver and color of jewel eyes :-)

Cheers

That's a great looking pen. I love the star on this pen. Is this a clipless pen?

Thank you both for your nice comments!

As soon as I get better lighting I will take a few nicer pictures; I already bought a light-tent but no lamps yet :-(

The pen is one of the earliest Meisterstück pens without clip and cap bands. Later models came with two golden cap bands (after 1925 ???) but still without clip.

However additional slip-on clips could be purchased either from Montblanc or as after-market accessories. This pen was sold several times in a couple of auctions during the last years and had a silver slip-on snake clip in the earlier ones.

The star is great! It has the typical craquelure which is typical for the surface of aged casein. It can be removed by sanding the uppermost surface to reveal an unblemished, smooth cream white surface. I did this on previous pens but will leave this one as is. At the moment I like this patina which cannot be produced other than by time. I will need to do some close up pictures of it.

The pen must have seen a lot of use as it has a groove from using a ruler a lot :-)

Cheers

Found this on eBay, turned out the seller lived in the same city as me, so we met up and made the exchange. Drew some attention as I counted out the cash in notes on the street corner we met up on!

Going to be my regular use work pen, my StarWalker FP remains my special occasion pen, but I'm seriously considering a JFK too as not only love the design, but also can relate to JFK as a figure.

Back to my RB, what's the best way to clean a few year's grime off the threads? Being using a toothbrush which worked well on the metal parts but it's not having the same effect on the resin.

I have a Legrand rollerball, the UNICEF edition and it is a very nice writer. I like the look of the platinum trim and and I am currently considering buying the platinum trimmed Legrand ballpoint.
