John Lennon rollerball which was a present given to my son today for his 21st :)

All happy and maybe just maybe this can progress to the same pen in the fountain pen version for next year ;)

After an heritage 1912 which is a perfect per ( even if I found it at the beginning too small without trying it ) , I was used to 149 pen size like my anniversary 149 for 75 th years in resin with the diamond . I am also fan of the lennon in fountain Pen that I am using regularly like any others fountain Pen from Mb . Today my ordered JFK fountain Pen is arrived and is now mine . I must say , every day it s a pleasure to work with so fabulous resin pens

I've purchased two Montblanc pens and a MB related item in a row:

1.- A MB 234 1/2 wartime fountain pen with a very nice flexy oblique medium nib

2.- A MB 146-6 sterling silver Solitaire in the Barleycorn pattern

3.- The new book Collective Stars, part 1 by Rösler & Wallrafen

The sterling silver 146 is amazing. Was it difficult to find? Does it have a F nib? Edited by A1979

Thanks Michael!

Well, I had to fight hard on e-Bay for it ;-) It sports a fine nib yes, though like my MB149 from 1962 and unlike modern Montblancs gives a little line variation

My 146 Platinum LeGrand arrived this week, too bad my wife wrapped it and put it under the tree until Christmas morning. I'll probably beat my daughter getting up on Christmas.

Today I bought an early 1950s MB 149 silver rings with the ski slope feed. Pictures were not great on my phone, but worth a shot for the price. I have been wanting one of these for a while. Fingers crossed it is not a hot mess when it arrives. I'll likely need to send it off to Tom, Max, or Francis for restoration.

Kind of ashamed ot be buying a pen this close to Christmas, but I grabbed a nice little MB 252. Been using it at work this week, filled with OMAS blue. Very nice, flexy fine nib. A good note-taker for sure.

Is that an EF nib, Perry?

My MB from the same era is the softest and most responsive nib I've used.

Think of it this way: It's a tool to finish up those holiday cards this season.

10 years on PFN! I feel old, but not as old as my pens.

Inked up: Wing Sung 618 - BSB / PFM III - Kiri-same / Namiki Falcon - Storia Fire / Lamy 2000 - Fuyu-gaki / Sheaffer Triumph - Eclat de Saphir

Just got my first MB...a 146 from Ebay (seller was from Berlin and had thousands of positive feedbacks and dealt mainly in vintage Pelikan, so I took a chance).

Apparently 1991 manufacture (seller estimate). 14K two-tone M nib. Has a serial number in block lettering (not the font used today) and W-GERMANY on the clip ring. It shows some aging, but it's basically very good or "almost new/barely used" condition. The nib looks brand new, though the underside shows some tarnish. It could be a bit wetter for my liking but I'll live with it for now...it's "medium wet", I would say. The only downside is that the piston is a bit hard to turn...reminds me of my Lamy 2000's piston, except the threads are brass. Nowhere near how smooth a Pelikan's is. I guess that must be age.

Filled with MB Mystery Black for now. I've grown to really like the MB inks. I have 3 now, and they've challenged Iroshizuku inks for the best in my stable.

Sorry, no pics. All I have is a cell-phone camera and bad light. I'm 99% sure this is authentic, though I can't replicate the "red tone when a light is shined behind the resin" thing. Maybe because it's full of ink.

I really don't know, I'm thinking medium? I only got to write with it a few mins and I'm not that good with judging MB nibs yet, I'll do more pics and writing samples for you all Christmas.

I’ve been saving up for my grail pen for my birthday/Xmas next week but haven’t found it in the right condition and nib size yet :( I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will turn up in the coming months, and, in the meantime, I decided to treat myself to a smaller gift that would still make me smile. The 50s nibs have been my favorites, so when I found a 264 from 1954 within my budget, I thought it was a sign from the MB gods. I opened it a little early and it is a pleasure to write with; it has a soft medium nib with good flex and a wonderful stubbish quality!

I also took one photo next to a 50s 146 for anyone looking for a size comparison.

your implying that the sticker makes the pen "complete" because that is the way it came from the factory.

It also came complete with no ink but I am sure that has not stopped you from inking the pen.

I understand your reasoning about the completeness so when you sell you believe it will increase it's value, and to the write buyer it does.

Buy for me, and others I am sure, I buy my fountains pens to use, and if you use a fountain pen it is no longer in factory complete condition so just peel the sticker off.

Heck, if it realy increased the value of a pen to have this sticker someone probably makes the sticker so you can affix it back when you sell.
