This is a heavy pen. It feels much more substantial than your average Classique. The guilloche barrel and cap look spectacular, nicely contrasted by the mop star and rose gold trimmings. The BB nib seems to write slightly broader than others I have but it is still an excellent pen. I am happy :)

Great acquisition! Thanks for the photo.

Congratulations on a lovely acquisition :) I think the Defoe is the most beautiful WE fountain pen, ever! Great pictures too.

This is such a nice pen, I drooled over it last week when I saw it at the boutique. Almost considered it myself, but was really saddened to know that it doesn't come in 146 size.

Congratulations! :) May you enjoy it in great health.

Unfortunately not a pen... just the MB Legend Intense Fragrance, which - for instance - is basically the Abercrombie Fierce. :)

Looks like a great nib!

It is - but a shame my penmanship does it no justice!

I highly commend these nibs to you Bronze, good line variation which I know you would put to good effect :)

I know what you mean i just got a 142 with an F nib i got off ebay and it has a decent amount of flex but anything i try to write with flex looks like (bleep), on the plus side with a feather touch it truly is an F, heck even with a bit of a heavy hand it's like the modern montblanc F hehe.

It was used to write, you can tell from the imprint of the cap on the barrel when it was posted, god bless Else Dieter, the name was imprinted on the cap, I hope to put it to good use as well

Some crappy pics of the lovely little pen, I think a vintage 144 o 146 might just be the perfect size for me.

My most recent MB purchase was a MB Selection wallet. I enjoy it every day.

Pen wise, it's the gorgeous Voltaire, M, filled with Pelikan BB and in the rotation.

Gorgous! That has been my wallet for a couple years now, since 2007. I have trouble getting re-fils for the small notepad inside though.

That voltaire looks stunning, oh no... You know what I'm thinking now right? :D :D :D

I don't find your penmanship to be bad at all! (Mine looked absolutely disastrous not long ago, and it's still very much a work in progress. Just found some videos on youtube of Lloyd Reynolds, now that man knew what he was doing with a pen. Not to mention Ken Fraser etc.)

I would love to get a Montblanc with a BB or 3B nib one day. Yours looks great, wide and quite sharp, congrats on the pen :)

In case I flip the pen, I can still say everything is "complete". If you peel off the label, it's "incomplete" https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/roflmho.gif

Damn ,you guys are pen nerds!!!..lol...My recent is my POE writers edition..Stickers off so it must be "incomplete"..boo hoo...lmao!!

Thanks, it's really nice! I'm starting to like how it writes more than the other MBs i have even if i don't take advantage of the flex, i really like how the bordeaux ink oxidizes since it has a breather hole in the cap. too bad the only white paper i have is crappy copy paper.

I might have to get a nib holder and some of those dip pens flex nibs to learn to write with flex so i don't ruin this lovely little thing.

I recently bought a MB 146 and based on the info here, I think it's 1970's vintage (smooth ring, shape of cone on top.) Thanks to you folks, here, I flushed it after a fill of ink did not write smoothly, and refilled it and it's writing beautifully. I was at a meeting yesterday with one of our managing partners (a legend--his photo is on my wall and we'd spoken but in 10 years, I'd never met him) He came out for our trimester meeting and I noticed at dinner, he was writing with a burgundy version. Not sure the model--I only glimpsed the white star on top. I was taking notes all yesterday with the usual Slimline. Today, I'll use the 146. Excuse the messy photo, working crazy hours. The pen is shiny and not scratched up but the picture looks weird.

Is it normal for the black resin on MB pens to have some marks/tiny scratches on everyday use?
