This 146 just in - had to share. Minimal ambering and lovely big BB nib. Images a bit rough - needs natural light but impatience reigned... Still not got around to inking, just looking and touching so far but working up to it.

Just inked and written a page in Diamine grey - seemed like an appropriate choice. Big stub nib performs beautifully!

Wow! Stunning pen Stephen. Must be difficult to take your eyes off it. Beautiful. Congratulations on acquiring your Grail Pen. Can't stop looking at the pictures.

A 146 from Sbroglio in Italy. Advertised here as flawless, F nib, 1996. It was. My first MB, and it grows on me daily. The writing balance is the feature I am most impressed by.

Nice vintage pen! Where did you get it? The nib looks like an oblique. A written sample please!

Picked up a mint early 1980's 149 in it's original white oyster box, with all papers from the original owner, that received it as a gift in 1985 and stashed it away! 14K F nib with ebonite feed. Wow what a nice writer, I'm the first to ink it!

Just arrived via mail service yesterday, a sealed box Jules Verne. I just inked it yesterday and was totally blown away! I'll prepare a review for it soon...

Still trying to catch my breath after pulling the trigger on a vintage MB 149, M nib, circa 1950. Can't wait for it to arrive and compare it to my 2010 MB 149. The feed, those silver rings, that flexible 14c nib! Must try to get some photos up when it arrives (when I work out how to attach a photo!). Just had to tell someone (you guys) as no one at work would understand why anyone would want to spend sooooo much on a pen. No one else would understand.

All I have to do now is to save for a MB 138 and a 139, then I promise. I'M DONE.

I was able to finally sell enough pens, save a little, and get the encouragement from my dear wife to purchase a Dumas with an OBBB nib! I got it Friday in time to use it all weekend. Sadly I had to fly out of town for the week and was a little afraid to take such a wonderful pen on the trip. Bryant had Mike (from Mike-it-work) adjust the nib and ink flow before selling it. I cannot explain how impressed I am with the pen!

This just in: a 90s Montblanc 149 18k bi-color OBB nib. Never used before according to the seller, and to my eye, that seems accurate. Feed looks like "early plastic", so I guess 1990 - 1994 based on the wonderful Dating Montblanc 149s thread on this forum.

Haven't actually used it. Am very much in awe of the huge OBB nib :cloud9:

I think, for now, with F, M and OBB nibs, I'm done :P

If I had a pound for every time I said that, I'd have some more money to spend on pens that I don't know I need yet...

Enjoy!

I fear you may be right. Saw a grey 146 on eBay a little while ago and having just seen your beautiful pictures of just such a pen...

But for now, it's 149 OBB -- huge, smooth and very wet. Dipped only, in MB Black.

Edit: quick picture of a writing sample. Took me at least 30 seconds after writing my name and the ink is still quite wet.

Of course Stephen is right. I've stupidly just ordered a 50-pen pen case for 15 pens! If that isn't a statement of intent I don't know what is. By the way, the pen case is fabulous.
