Today I just picked up a matching numbers Peter the Great and Catherine the Great patron set from 1997. The pens are mint and still in the plastic wrapping. If fact, the Catherine had the original shrinkwrap over the white cardboard and the shrinkwrap over the wooden box. I removed these but left the pen in its sealed plastic sleeve for now.

I am quite exited as I have always wanted a matching set. I found these at the SF pen show but just picked them up today. Hooray.

Looking forward to seeing pictures! Congrats!

Here is my new 1912 with a bottle of Oyster Grey ink. I had bought a demo 1912 at the DC pen show at a good price. Upon getting it home, I looked at it under a loupe and noted a tiny chip in the lacquer. I returned it the next day and bought this one at a MB Boutique last week.

My son has a brand new 1912 that's just a beautiful pen. It's heavy, but writes amazingly well.

thanks a lot da vinci for your kind reply.

whats your opinion for the heritage, m or b nib.

i know its up to me but cant test the nibs and i wouldnt send it in to change nib, takes me too long.

my mozart is in f, the heritage should be broader, so my question.

is the difference between m and b on the heritage huge because i actualli want a broader nib but still a everyday pen.

thanks for your suggetstion

I just ordered a 90th anniv 149 in a BB from Dennis. He should have stock within a week, and I should be able to get it within a week after, hopefully!

I also lucked out on a working 644G a few weeks ago. :)

Amazing pait of PoA's you have there. Could never decide whether the green or dark aubergine coloured barrel appealed to me the most. Think your solution is the best way to go......get them both ! :)

On Wed, the 27th I picked up a pre-owned Boheme Rouge from the Dromgoole brothers in Houston's Rice village. They get consignment collections and also buy from estates. Usually top quality and reasonably priced.

I am happy to know you got a brand new one at the end, it's such a nice piece :) I also almost filled it with OG but one of my 149s had it and so went with the PG. To be honest, on some types of paper they appear identical. I just can't wait to try Fuyu-Sayogun

Hello, I've never used the Mozart F but I was also interested in testing a Heritage in an M or B nib so I tried one in a B at the MB NYC boutique last week. The difference compared to a 146 F was too great for me to be able to use the pen as an everyday writer. (On a side note, the pen is even more beautiful in person but my hand couldn't adjust to the grip section!)

Thanks Orfew, farmdogfan and Opooh for your kind words! I'm still a little surprised that I managed to get such a set as I have wanted a PL set for many years.
